I must say the service here is worth the visit. Very friendly and experienced. I only came across this as i was searching online for a good optician. AND I must say very good price for the quality received.

I had such a good experience with this optician I just had to do a review.
I have struggled to get a good pair of glasses for years. They just never seemed quite right. Then I went to this optician in Blackhall and I got the best eye test and pair of glasses I have ever had.
I thought they had better quality things than chains too, and the prices were very reasonable compared to what I have seen elsewhere. They had a big range to choose from, of lots of styles and prices. I did end up getting one of of the fancier ones which were a bit more because I liked them so much.
Also, I did not know before I went that everyone is entitled to NHS care by an optician just like with dentists. But they are, and this place does NHS care for everybody. My exams etc were all covered by the NHS and I can also go back for any emergency problems I have too, also covered under the NHS.
I’ve recomended this place to all my friends.

Great clinical care and great service. If you want to go to an Optician/​Optometrist who is far above the quality of the quick and dirty mall opticians this is the place to go.
My eye exam, which I didnt pay for due to it being covered by the NHS, was top notch. I have had several problems with my contact lenses that others could not solve and Mr Wallace took the time to get it right and was very knowledgable and able to sort things out for me where others had not.
The contacts and glasses that were carried were all obviously high quality, but were very well priced. The staff were knowledgable about what was best for me and did not offer me the most expensive thing, but the thing that would best suit my needs. I got a lovely pair of glasses that I can see very well out. They are very stylish and all my firends have commented on how nice they are.
They were very up front with me about everything (cost etc) and the way the various contact lense packages worked was made very clear. They were all actually very good value and included all my solutions at a very good price.
All the terms were explained up front and I do not believe for a second that had I finished my fittings and then PAID for my fitting session that they would have withheld my contact lens prescription from me. That previous commentor does not ring true at all.
The interior of the place and waiting area was lovely and warm and open. The staff was all friendly and professional and the testing room was one of the nicest I have been in and they had very up to date machines etc.
I really had a great experience and really feel I got great value for my money. I will definitely be going back next time I am due an exam.

Very disappointing — My old optician retired and I’d decided that I wanted to buy my lenses online, but have regular check-​ups. Initially this seemed ok, but then it became apparent that really they wanted me to sign up to a monthly program. I declined, tried to pay for my appointment, and tried to buy online. They then refused to give me a prescription. An expensive learning experience for me.
