Hi, like yourself, I have the yearning for an acoustic Baby Grand! We already have two pianos in our home one acoustic, unsure of manufacturer as the casing has had work done to it, but the manufacturers label was never replaced. This started a hunt using the information gleaned from the ironwork inside. This brought forth information that the piano was built in Belarussia, by one of the top piano builders there, but still no manufacturers name provided. Further internet searches advised that their instruments were of an enormously high quality. It has a very heavy touch and a really reasonant base which a friend who worked with Andrew Lloyd Webber, and is an organist in huge demand by churches, who was able to advise us that the piano was a house piano, evident by the fact it has three pedals. My piano tuners also say that they get excited when coming to tune the piano, which I always have tuned to concert pitch! I did mention to my organist friend that I have always wanted a Baby Grand, and he advised that I was better off with a very good upright than a Baby Grand. He has two full size grands in his home. One is a Steinway which he sent back to them for a complete overhaul. What a change when it was returned. My other piano is a Kawai Digital piano which I purchased with money left to me in my late fathers estate.
Like you I would love a decent organ. I received information yesterday that I may have the choice of two to choose from. All I know at present is that the main one is a Wyvern, and will probably need about six bodies the move the thing. I am being given the one that I wish free of charge! It is actually for our church however, it is needing £500k spent on the building therefore, I have decided to bring it here and store it in our Summer House which is well heated during the winter. It will also make me put one foot forward and do something with our Wedding Presents which have been stored out there for six years this year. There is a lot of work being done on the house and it would have been silly to bring them in here when floors are being replaced as well as windows and all the doors. The only thing that I do have in the house is my mothers Denby, Royal Worcester Good cook wear as well as her Wedding China!
The main thing I would like you to take from this is that all things come to he that waits! Scott
