Lothian Buses Travelshop

I have a lot to thank these guys for. My first experience was going in to buy a pre-​pay card. It was quite busy and a little chaotic, but I got seen to and set up easily enough.
The next time I had to call in, it was me who was frantic. I had just gotten off a bus in the West End and seen it speed off before I realised my phone had slipped out of my pocket (stupid women’s clothing and their inadequate pocket ration!). We were able to lock the phone remotely and switch on the alert, then we made a mad dash to the travel shop.
I must have looked very harassed but the woman who served me was great. Using just the information on my paper ticket she was able to track down my bus and call the depot. They radioed the driver who assured us he had my phone in his pocket (and could we please stop ringing it!). Having confirmed all that, the woman then wrote down the time the bus was due back on Waverley Bridge so we could meet it there and I could be reunited with my precious.
Seriously top service dealing with a harassed customer calmly!

This is possibly the sorriest excuse for a shop ever… It’s looking really dated and there is almost always a queue. The service is hit and miss, sometimes friendly, mostly surly and slightly abrupt.
Yes, it functions as somewhere to get bus tickets or get a new ridacard or top it up but apart from that there really is nothing enjoyable about the experience.
