Have to say that this company is one if the most honest. reliable companies I have ever came across
…They put in a damp proofing course and a new kitchen into my property and the job was first class. …nothing was to much trouble… I was delighted with the work that was carried out and I would thoroughly recommend them… excellent customer service and a fantastic job done. …can’t thank them enough..

Couldn’t agree more with the above. Argumentative, abusive boss, arrogant ignorant know-​it-​all surveyor

This company must receive a prize for the worst customer service in history.
My wife and I spent around £3000 on a damp proof course with MacFadyen Preservation, the work they did seemed okay and with most things like this if you are not in the trade you do not know if the job has been done properly or not, you just have to trust.
8 months later we could smell something under the stairs where we had, had damp proofing done.
So I phoned Macfadyen Preservation Edinburgh and explained our problem and asked if they could check it out for us, and make sure we did not still have damp. MacFadyen told us if we wanted someone to have a quick check it would be around £150 ! I explained we had spent a lot of money with them and wondered if they wanted to check and ensure the quality of their work
They did not, even though we had a guarantee we would still have to pay and only if there was a problem would we get our money back .
We thought this was disgusting. We live in Edinburgh, they are an Edinburgh firm and they could surely fit it in when passing. This would give us some piece of mind that we have not wasted £3000 on a damp proofing that might not be working.
We later spoke to the company owner and he had the same attitude, we asked him if he thought this was good customer service?
He told us he was a very successful business man and we would still have to pay for them to come out and check the work that they had done!
We would not recommend this company nor their attitude.
