I’m sure the staff know their way around a computer but they are a bunch of obnoxious smartass twats in my opinion, i went in with my computer a while ago when it had a problem, i was greeted by a chubby guy with a ponytail just staring at me as he stuffed his face with greasy chips, then another guy walked through and asked how he could help, as i tried to explain what was wrong he cut me off as if he’d heard enough and knew what would be wrong yeah yeah its ok, its ok, i fix, come back at 5… so anyway he couldnt fix it and told me i needed a new hard drive and offered to sell me one i refused and ended up sending my computer back to get fixed(i got it from ebay), i got it back working perfectly after finding out it was a processor problem i wouldn’t trust any of them as far as i could throw them. If you show them that you do know a bit about computers there will be much less chance they will try to squeeze you to spend money you don’t need to. Now the one good thing i will say about these guys is that they will buy almost any computer equipment, from laptops to empty computer cases(my flatmate and I found a large empty computer case next to the big bins at the end of out street so we took it in for a laugh and walked out £15 richer!!)
