This is one of two stands, which are right outside the National Gallery Complex at the Mound, just off Princes’ Street. Although they both serve pretty much the same thing, I’d assume Mitchell’s ice cream would be of better quality. When I was at the gallery with a friend, the presence of these refreshment stands made complete sense; the area was teeming with tourists and it was quite hot, a little bit of a rarity over here! It’s cheap enough to attempt to pay your way with coins, as I did and convenient.
