Oddbins

A great wee shop with a fantastic selection of wine, all very competitively priced, with staff who are genuinely interested in helping. They have a good selection of beer, and of scotch. Keep an eye on their Facebook page for regular wine and scotch tasting.

You know I really like this place. The chain is ok and I’m usually happy with the service but this particular store, I’m not sure whether it’s the area manager that is good at hiring or what, but they seem to go the extra mile with their service. I popped in yesterday as I noticed as I was passing that they sell IPA’s which my dad is mad on (well it’s the American ones he’s mad on) and I’m keen to get him to try some scottish versions! So in I went and asked my question then followed up with (thinking back quite rudely on my part) «do you know anything about beer?» Stupidly thinking the answer would be no. Anyway, as it turns out she knew a LOT about the beer and gave me a number of recommendations. One of the breweries is actually in my hometown of Musselburgh which is exciting! Anyway they are incredibly helpful in this store and I recommend you pop in if you like your wine or beer. Usually I shop for my wine at the supermarket but as I was looking at the prices, to be honest they’re not that much different. You’ll probably be paying a pound more for a bottle of wine more suited to your own personal preference after speaking to one of their well informed staff. Worth it if you ask me. Next time I’m around Leith walk I’ll be popping in.

Friendly staff and a decent selection.
Oddbins is a franchise and they can be found all over the UK and Ireland. They usually have a great selection of beers, wines and occasionally ciders. I approve of all these things.
The staff in this Oddbins are young, friendly and extremely helpful! There’s not much else to say, this isn’t an off licence you go out of your way for but I’m glad it’s my local.
