The lovely window display of the macarons brought us inside for a longer look. The macaroon were reasonably priced and we bought two of them. In the end, they looked better than they tasted. We were expecting/hoping for something better than what we can get in the Dallas area, but there are several places in Dallas that we think are better.

I walked past this cute Patisserie last week and made a mental note to go there having been disappointed with Starbucks around the corner. I popped in today for a coffee. I asked if they had skimmed milk for drinks. My(French?) server told me they used full fat milk for coffee but could give me skimmed milk if I wanted. I asked for a double macchiato with skimmed milk. By now both the cashier and the barista were giggling over the request for skimmed milk. I can only assume that skimmed milk is not something the French drink. I left with my drink, but the cup felt very light and on checking I had been given a double espresso with no milk! My odd request must have thrown her. Kudos for the veg ware biodegradable cups & lids. The desserts look amazing.

Want to stop in and have a quiet coffee? Fancy a delicious little French treat? Even better, do you like friendly service? Check off all those for me! I was lured in by the lovely window display. For me, it’s the adult equivalent of a child peering into a toy store. I’m powerless to resist the siren song of chocolate and eclaires. Once my resolve had(easily) crumbled I ventured in and had a lovely café au lait and a treat called a ‘Paris best’ which resembled a round eclaire filled with hazelnut almond cream. Do I have to tell you it was good? Okay. It was delicious. Even better, it was quiet and uncrowded when I visited, and the server had a lovely French accent coupled with an easy-going demeanor. Considering the handy location too just at the beginning of princes street, I could see myself returning easily.
