A solid store with great products that is well-run. I have stopped in to Sainsbury’s a few times and every time I leave pretty happy. In general, Sainsbury’s has a good produce section and I always end up picking up oranges when I go there because I usually have good luck getting a great bag of juicy oranges. Also, besides the store having most of the items I shop for(minus the ice cream I prefer), they also have several self-checkout machines available. This is in addition to the standard cashier counters. I think this sets Sainsbury’s apart from other stores in this regard. You don’t spend much time waiting in the queue here. I like that because I can get in and out really fast and don’t have to spend 20 minutes waiting in the queue, hoping for someone to move the line along. Also, unlike most Tesco’s they actually keep bags at the self-checkout lanes. This is convenient. In the end, Sainsbury’s is a good store and I will definitely stop in when I am in need of something and am in the area. Pro tip: The chocolate chip cupcakes there are remarkable. Try them, you won’t be disappointed.

I was so happy to hear that this Sainsbury’s was opening in the brand, spanking new building here! It is small but it SO convenient and well located right off the Royal Mile. It is a tad more expensive than the larger Sainsbury’s stores outside town, but that’s to be expected. It is also a tad more than Tesco(19p per banana instead of 18p per banana — the difference won’t break the bank). That said, the great location wins me over and I also like it better than the Tesco right up the road. I’m happy with it and it makes my life easier.
