Massive love for the Space NK. This is my preferred store,(lighting is better than the Harvey Nics concession) and the staff are just brill. I’m more of an online purchaser(with guaranteed samples!) as the stores don’t stock all items/brands but for a pop in to try shades, or test out colours/textures it’s great. They offer free makeovers with absolutely no pressure to buy products and will happily decant a small sample for you to try any potions and lotions before you buy. They also have a loyalty card and keep an eye out for their online sales for some real bargains. Never had an issue with returns and the George Street staff really know their products with SA of various ages so you get advice suitable for young/mature skins. So forget any previous nightmares with orange faced harpies pushing the hard sell and pop in for a relaxed rummage and a chat.

It’s nice. It’s friendly. It’s smaller than most branches and, yes, it’s expensive. They stock some interesting lines you cannot get elsewhere and the service makes it worth a visit. I have even seen them phone search other stockists around Edin for a colour I fell in love with from Nars that they were out of stock on. Stores they are not even affiliated with! That is excellent customer service. So yeah, have a look in. Get their free loyalty points card and enjoy yourself.

I am a bit of a sucker for premium skin care and make-up and Space NK has all the brands I covet: Chantecaille, Dr Brandt, Jurlique and many more besides. The staff look model perfect and effortlessly sophisticated; my skin becomes dull and shiny, and my clothes feel tatty and cheap in comparison(sob). However, these pretty ladies can never do enough to help me on my unattainable quest for clear, wrinkle free skin. I figure their perfection is all a ploy to make you want to buy things, for this is a shop that sells dreams — you too can look fresh faced and youthful if you’ve got a spare £200 to spend on lotions and potions. I fall for it hook, line and sinker every time.

This is quite a small branch of Space NK and bizarrely enough the even smaller concession in Harvey Nichols seems to stock more products than this one. I popped in looking for a Dr. Seabagh foaming cleanser as Space NK are one of the only stockists in Scotland, they don’t stock it here but they do have it in the concession store. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by a friendly shop assistant who helped me with my enquiry so top marks for customer service it’s just a shame that this branch seems strangely empty. They do have a good range of Laura Mercier products and NARS cosmetics but I guess it wasn’t much constellation as they weren’t what I was looking for. Space NK have also started stocking new«Lime Crime» lipsticks and come in a whole range of vibrant colours from fuchsia pink to black and are £14 a pop… I’m not so sure how I feel about black lipstick though. The store is very organised and fresh and if they don’t have what you’re looking for pop along to the Space NK in Harvey Nick’s, you might be lucky.

This store keeps my wife happy and helps with Christmas pressies. Undoubtedly a Wallet buster of a store, wish I was a skin Dr as the magic creams they make magic money out of my wallet into theirs. Nicky Kinnaird is where the NK comes from; she has serached extensively for stuff that you dont get in dept stores. This comes at a premium. The store is bigger than the Newcastle one. Staff friendly

OOooooooh, pretty things! What a place, I have been spending my hard earned pennies here since it opened as it is one of the few places to stock Stila and Nars. I love everything about it, from the sleek white interiors to the dinky white bags you get your products in. It is also quite a comfortable place — I have never felt sneered at or as if I do not belong because I do not have a Prada bag on my arm. The assistants are very helpful and willing to let you try any products you are considering buying. You may also be lucky and get a few samples in your bag if you purchase something too.

Gentleman, if you want to impress a new girlfriend or flabbergast a long standing wife or partner, go to Space NK and purchase something(anything will do). Cosmetics and beauty treatments abound in this lovely store. The staff are friendly and will guide you through the maze of assorted products. Its not cheap but you know what they say — quality over quantity so even a small gift from here will go down very well.
