I’m not a frequent Tesco shopper at the moment but have regularly shopped in other Tesco stores previously. I’d say this is one of the better Tesco shops I’ve been in as it was really easy to find what I was looking for and staff were really helpful. Also, the shop was nice and tidy. Also, the health food and whole foods departments at Tesco seem to be expanding and I was able to get all the ingredients I needed recently for some healthy cookies; chia seeds and medjool dates being the main culprits. I noticed they didn’t have any dates so I crossed my fingers and asked if they were completely out and the man who helped me managed to find quite a few packs in the back, so it’s always worth asking if they can check for you. I also needed help finding another product and the lady who helped me this time was friendly and just as helpful. I did find that the self scan machines tended to kick off, and at as busy a time as when I was in, several shoppers are all left waiting for assistance. There just wasn’t enough members of staff to help out and the result was one poor girl attempting to help everybody out and quite a growing queue of people waiting. By the time the attendant was back working her way through the other people needing help, my machine had gone in a strop again. Dear, oh, dear! One person covering the self scan is just not enough when every self scan till is being used, especially when there’s as many problems with the machines. Regardless, I do like this supermarket and will pop by occasionally.

Decent sized supermarket that isn’t overly expensive. Has a good range of products. I mean, its a grocery store– I’m not sure what else I can say.

This store is a regular supermarket and not one of the Tesco Express shops. I shop here regularly due to the proximity to my workplace but I have wider experience of the large Tesco superstore in Dumfries. This Edinburgh store is much smaller than the Dumfries store which also sells electricals and clothing. This store doesn’t have the capacity to sell the full product range and so is only useful for grocery shopping. Nevertheless, the staff are friendly and helpful while the range of foodstuffs is adequate but not quite as varied as the larger stores. Prices are higher here too compared with the Dumfries store where much better value can be had. If I was reviewing the Dumfries store I would have given it 5 stars but it loses a star due to the restricted range and slightly higher prices. The store is clean and well maintained and secure parking is plentiful and easily accessible for a city centre store. Accordingly parking is restricted to a maximum of 3 hours so don’t leave your car here all day or you may incur significant charges.

I wouldn’t shop here except for the proximity to my house. Cramped and poorly lit this Tescos exemplifies all that is wrong with their brand. Walking through the store you are constantly harassed by physiologically predicted buying triggers placed at eye height. See this deal? BUY5SAVE0p NOWREDUCED(we artificially raised the price to make it seem like a discount in the weeks before) ALLOUROWNLABELWINEISNOW ‘FINEST’ added value on everything!(even though it is still the crappy plonk) WHATWHATWHAT? WINEREDUCEDFROM £20TO £5? What a deal!(too bad it is a no name brand they have made up themselves in house and whacked a pretty label on it, IT’S ADDEDVALUE!) ALLYOURENDOFAISLEDEALSARERUBBISH, you are just using this area to try and trigger a buying response. Walking around this store it seems like they are always trying to charlatan you into buying. It’s because you are not important any more. All Tesco cares about is the shareholder. Things to buy — Ice, they sell 1kg and 2kg for the same price of £1 so get the bigger one. Lambs kidney to feed to my dog(15p) Sometimes they have microfibre clothes at 4 for a £1 Occasionally offers on tulips(I like tulips) Don’t Get switched with a BOGOF fake upsell.

Having just moved into my new flat and being new to the area, I set off on a trip of discovery to find the nearest Tesco. I was very pleased to see this was just around the corner from me. What a great size of store– it’s not small(it had everything I was looking for and more) but not big(the size of the building didn’t add to the time it takes me to do my weekly shop). We have a winner.

This is a surprisingly large supermarket for a fairly central city location. The store also boasts a Tesco Direct counter at which you can order and collect Tesco Direct items(very helpful if you’re trying to take advantage of the free to store delivery option!). The store is generally well stocked and as with all Tesco stores, the items are well presented. The layout of the store is very organised, with a magazine and snacks section, along with fresh flowers, as you enter the store. That said, the juice aisle is oddly located at the end of store, nowhere near the alcohol aisle as it is in a lot of stores. The staff are generally pleasant and I’ve never had to wait any length of time to be served. I’m more than happy to be a regular customer of this store.
