At first sight this bakery seemed ok judging by the baked goods displayed on the case. We stopped by to get a few pastries on our way to our apartment after an excellent lunch at Tuk Tuk… We asked the polish woman about some of the breads and she completely ignored us so we couldn’t buy. She and the man in the shop both seemed more interested in displaying the pastries rather than selling them. Once home, what a disappointment! The pastries are full of lard and were very soggy and tasteless, Yuk! Will not go back there.

I’m a bit torn between three and four stars, really.
On the one hand, what I purchased (an onion and mushroom pastry-​like a pan au chocolat with savoury instead of chocolate– a chocolate doughnut and a loaf of bread) was decently good. They weren’t amazing but they were insanely cheap at something like £3.50 for everything.
On the other hand the girl working completely ignored me in favour of chatting with her friends.
Plus points for the price, neutral for the quality and minus for the service.

The only place I found so far in whole Edinburgh where you can get good bread.
There is number of totally different breads and it would be cruel for your taste buds not to try at least few.
As for cakes, maybe it is different taste that most people here would be used to, but I’ve tried few and are very fine.

I like this patries as i have had the same one three times in a row, however the service can be abrupt coming across as a wee bit rude.

Seems like a decent little bakery. This review will be short and sweet because I didnt spend much time inside. Bought a simple loaf of bread. Place smells amazing so I was brought in by my nose. Staff seemed fine to me and the cakes and pastries all looked yummy. The bread is really good, I enjoy it with a little butter. Seems like a good bakery I will have to come back again and stay a little longer browsing and talking to the staff. Also want to try some of those mouth watering goodies :)
