What a cool, funky spot! I visted here randomly on Friday night and really enjoyed it. First and foremost it wasn’t heaving and after a short wait we got a place to sit. The beer selection varied from McEwans 70 to a hoppy IPA with options in between, so pretty much something for everyone. They do cocktails, and have an impressive rum selection. Importantly, a half pint here was £1.85 while the same half pint just two minutes up the road was £2.20 I’m really pleased we gave this place a chance. It looked a bit like a typical old man boozer from the outside but it was just a good friendly place which was just what we were looking for.

It doesn’t look like much when you walk past(has a very old man pub vibe), but it’s one of my favourite places in the city. It’s just a decent, no frills pub with a great drinks selection(some great whiskies!). What really sets it apart is the other punters — I’ve never been anywhere with such a mix. You’ll get the regulars who’ve been going day in, day out, for years, young couples, old couples, the odd family thrown in, some suits finishing work and just a bunch of mates chilling. No-one looks or feels out of place! Oh, and they do cheese & ham toasters for £1.50. Love it

It depends on what you’re looking for, but you could do worse than Windsor Buffet. A nice laid back pub, the type of place you can get scampi fries and while away an afternoon or evening. The clientele is a mix of locals which is quite nice as most of the Leithy places I go don’t have quite the mix you’d expect. The pub itself is quite large and reasonably traditional in décor. Sunday afternoon unpretentious chill out. Bam.

One of Leith Walk’s many pubs, the Windor Buffet is a wood panelled, traditional boozery with locals glued to the bar. I don’t recall the selection of drinks on offer being terrible or spectacular — it was just standard alcoholic options and crisps as far as I can remember. If you need somewhere convenient and inoffensive for a catch up you could do worse than here. It’s a perfectly serviceable wee bar, but doesn’t hold much in the charm or uniqueness stakes.

Sadly what once was a great Edinburgh pub has been mostly ruined by the fairly recent takeover. The least friendly publicans imaginable, who would rather hassle you to drink up after just serving you than encourage you to come back. They really don’t seem to know how to deal with the public and have an appalling lack of tact. This used to be a true local pub with great, friendly regulars. Sadly most of the regulars have been driven out. I’d rather have old Davie back than these pompous fools. Hopefully one day soon it will be bought over by someone who actually enjoys dealing with the public.

WIFI… Nice staff and free wifi with a drink. Went with the McEwans 70 shilling. Nutty brown yumminess.

perect place to warm up with a pint away from the cold weather. Comfortable & inviting with a good mix of music to boot! Definitely a fan!

I sadly can’t confirm nor deny Stuart’s enquiries about the lock in, but if there is one, I can certainly think of worse places to be locked in around here! This pub is a good traditional pub. Like Stuart said, they can knock together a few cocktails too, but I stuck to Gin and Tonic with ice and a slice, and that did me fine. I think I would have felt daft with a fancy drink in my hand in here, its not a fancy sort of place. The day I was in, there were around 15 Spanish tourists sampling Tennant’s draught lager, so that was an experience in itself. I saw quite a few disgruntled faces that day!

A lovely little place that’s a welcome change on Leith walk. Selection of booze is good and bartender knew how to make cocktails that weren’t on the menu, so you can get a little creative while you get annihilated. Very comfortable seats that invite you to stay for just one more pint. Heard that they also have a lock-in on a weekly basis, can anyone confirm?

Nice little pub at the top end of Leith Walk, years ago the Walk had loads of pubs but many of them have now closed down. The Buffet is one of the few pubs that I would now happily go into on Leith Walk, it has a good mixed customer base and it also sells a couple of real ales. When the TV studios use to be next door you use to see the odd celeb.

An absolute gem of a bar situated at the top of Leith Walk opposite Edinburgh Youth Hostel. One of the last few pubs which has moved on with the times whilst retaining its unique character. Saff are always friendly and do their upmost to please. Beer and ale quality is excellent, prices are reasonable for the location and the atmosphere is comfort personified. The perfect place to wind down and probably the best pint of Deuchars in town!!!

Located on Elm Row, at the top of Leith Walk this cozy little pub has an almost grandfatherly feel to it, making it the perfect hideout for anybody who likes a nice, relaxed atmosphere to settle in and have a pint or five. Drinks are slightly on the expensive side at £2.50 a pint of Fosters, but the TV, the leather seats, the sheets of fantasy football teams, and the general«old pub» ambience more then makes up for it. Definitely a good place to chill out, meet new people, and to just do the guy thing.
