Contrary to what other reviews say, this is both eat-in and takeaway — there is a separate area for getting takeaways.
I’ve only ever eaten in here, always as part of large family groups, and we’ve always been well looked after. The staff are good, they take reservations, it’s well run.
They do the usual chip shop fare of fried, battered fish and they do it well. They also do more restaurant style dishes, for example the grilled salmon is great, with new potatoes and vegetables, and they do a mean fish pie. They have a tendency to overcook their veg slightly however. You can go for the full three courses if you like too, they will do you some prawns or last time I had a goats cheese salad. There is a reasonable drink menu too with beers, wines, lots of fruit juices.
Prices are perhaps a tiny bit steep for the main dishes on the a la carte menu, but they do a good set lunch deal. This is a reliably decent restaurant.

Good food, friendly staff. It’s a sit-down place and not a take-out as the name could imply.
The place is very clean.
«Kids eat free» sundays. They really care about children here (donate money to NSPCC, …)
