I love the old-timey feel of it here! The food is great, and in the summer the beer garden is perfect. An adorable dog sleeps by the fire :) Interesting history, as well.

What do you do when the weather is nice? Head to the pub garden of course! This pub is hidden down some country lane, it is extremely cute and there is a lot of outdoor seating. There is also a lovely play area for children. We ordered food and was told that the food would take an hour and a half(they weren’t joking) on their menu it states ‘we don’t make fast food, we make good food’ something like that, well boy was that far from the truth. We ordered: Onion rings, garlic bread, breaded mushrooms, potato skins, tuna sandwich, and a burger. Garlic bread was awful it was a baguette with loaded cheese, the tuna sandwich was also awful. All that food came to £40. This pub got 3 stars just because of the location and the outdoor seating and even that is generous. There are much better pubs that have a good garden.

Lovely old world pub. Good food and real ale on tap. Hasn’t changed that much in many years.

Friendly old English pub opposite stables, so ideal spot for proud fathers to while away an extra half hour waiting for offspring to finish mucking out the horses. Also only a couple of miles from M25 Enfield junction so a good place to stop off — beats motorway services. Tudor building, full of old beams. There is a restaurant at the back, though the food looks a bit basic. We sat in the bar and had beer and sandwiches — good choice of English Ales — Greene King, Fullers, Adnams etc. plus the usual Fosters, Carlsberg etc. Good atmosphere — most customers were obviously regulars but the staff made us feel welcome.
