Wandered past here on the weekend. Very cute little set-up on the edge of the forest. Sweet ladies in a van serving the queue of people. Plenty of benches to sit and eat. Array of sandwiches, cold drinks, hot drinks and snacks. And cakes. Prices were definitely on the budget side, the most expensive thing was no more than £3. The place was surrounded by walkers, bikers and cyclists all refueling in this perfect wooded spot. The bacon and egg sandwiches looked really good and smelt great. Very useful but really wish there were loos nearby.

It’s a tea hut, no more, no less. plus there are no loo’s too. Serves a cracking range of sarnies, rolls, cake, sweeties, Tea(of course), coffee, other drinks. I love this place for the diversity of bikes — you get to see some proper old school stuff here. Last Sunday there was a 1926 Matchless in superb condition. Usually a range of other more modern stuff, from Supersports bikes to Harley’s. The bacon and egg rolls are immense –proper bacon, really thick, with fried egg on top. Only gripe would be the brown sauce is not HP sauce! If you like motor or mountain biking, horse riding, or just fancy a trip out of the city, then pop along. It’s right at the beginning of Epping Forest, which is a lovely place for a walk or ride. Essex has some really excellent biking roads. If a mountain biker or horse rider, the forest is great for your off road needs. It’s bit hard to find 1st time, being off the beaten track, but it is worth the effort. Weekends can get busy. Oh, forgot to mention — it’s cheap.
