This is my new local chippy. The portions are generous. The style is classic English fish and chips, and the place is always crowded. It’s popular among the locals. Like most fish and chips, they have a separate takeaway counter, which is what use. The service is prompt and they’re friendly people. The dining room often has plenty of people sitting in it, so one presumes the service is fairly good. This is a great local chip shop if you’re in the area and you’re in the mood for basic fish and chips.

Fairly trad interior sure, but it’s a trad fish & chip shop, no grumbles here. The fish(we had haddock & plaice) were perfectly done, with just right batter and ace chips: crisp and dry on the outside, fluffy inside, just the right amount of crunch. A good quality chippy this. Salmon looked good too. It’s even licensed, which just makes for the perfect Friday evening wind down from the week.

Sorry Superfish, having been to this one, they really ought to refurbish it, as to me it is rather soulless. I cannot explain why, maybe it is off the road with an over subscibed parking one way system, maybe other shops, or possibly the Ewell By Pass, being so adjacent, but then it can not help the situation, being so the Old Organ Inn.
