Came here on a Sunday for a calvary. Had to wait 30 mins for a table. This is always a good sign and erasures me that the food and service should be good. This was indeed the case as myself and my family left satisfied with bellies fuller than santa’s sack. The staff are quite young so they need to be given a break. Many customers giving grief for no reason. Chill out guys its a Sunday!

Large pub, wth plentiful parking, on site that has hosted a hostelry since the 19^th Century. Located just by the Scilly Isles roundabout.
Style is Carvery, and at lunchtimes popular with the older generation.
No particular faults, but nothing remarkable either.

This carvery has been there for years and used to be one of my favourites, but is now nowhere near as good as it used to be. It gets very busy, so is obviously popular — but the food is mass-​produced and the vegetables somewhat over-​cooked. OK, the food is reasonable enough (which is probably why the place is popular with families) but I think better quality and value can be found elsewhere. On a recent visit I was also irritated by the waiter who kept referring to us as ‘Girls’. ‘Everything all right girls? Can I get you anything else girls? More drinks girls?’ My 80+ mother was too deaf to hear him, and my 40+ friend from overseas somewhat bemused… but, by the end of our meal, I was well and truly narked!

food is basic, parking ok, staff all young, busy places on sunday all day

This is a very nice place to take friends and family too, good meals, affordable and reasonably priced.
