Came here for a quick breakfast before boarding a flight. For an airport restaurant it’s decent but don’t expect high quality. It’s quick, cheap food. The breakfast menu has a few decent options and they use free range eggs which is a major plus. They have lots of egg based options, a granola/yogurt option and pastry/bagel/croissant options. It’s quite busy before those early morning flights but because the food comes out so quick there are plenty of tables available. The good thing about it is that since its tucked away in the corner you don’t necessarily feel like you’re sitting in an airport. Good for a quick, cheap meal but expect the quality to be average.

Horrible service. First server botched the order and Brought the wrong food. When we said it to another waiter he literally walked off and did nothing about it. Then when we had to ask yet another waitress and she tried to blame the order error on us, asking if we had really ordered what we originally ordered. Finally after about 40 mins we got our food minus the coke that was ordered originally. Absolute joke of an establishment. Staff are rude too

This restaurant/pub is on the balcony and tucked in the corner. The were lots of French words painted on the wall etc and it was cry neutral and pleasant to sit in. You get a great view of the planes coming and going and it had a nice atmosphere. I’ll be honest I wasn’t expecting much as I think this is a chain but I was hungry and I’m also watching what I eat so it was the best choice for me as I wasn’t in the mood for a pret. The staff were great, really nice and friendly and really efficient. I ordered a sparkling water(yeah I know rock n lol.) and a salmon Niçoise salad. I love Niçoise and I love salmon but have never had the two together… I have been missing a trick! It was a bloody good salad(yes there is such a thing). I had a big pile of leaves, onion and tomatoes topped with a huge piece of freshly baked salmon fillet, egg, olive and just enough potatoes, green beans and anchovies. It was beautifully cooked and well put together. I would recommend it here, it was busy but I and the people ordering around me weren’t waiting long. I will def pop in again if I fly from gatwick again.

I am not fond of waiting in airports. When I have to wait in the airport, I always try to find a quiet escape were I can do some work or relax. Café Rouge was that place for me at Gatwick. It’s tucked away in a corner, you enter the restaurant and instantly feel you have entered a safety airport zone. For some reason, I instantly felt at ease. There is even a electronic board in the corner so you can watch the status of the flights, very nice! There is also a nice view overlooking the airfield. It also wasn’t very busy. I was able to order some food and work in peace. They promise the food in 15 minutes and it is definitely accurate. I had a nice soufflé with salad. I was actually surprised that the soufflé and salad were quite nice. For an airport, I am not expecting the food to be that great. I had a coffee following my meal… and that was definitely not so great. The service was friendly and fast. Overall a nice escape if you have some time to wait for your flight.
