Mark’s Deli is now back on Burnfield Road, after a short period of Fenwick Road while the premises got re-built. It’s a kosher deli and there’s also a café space so you can eat in — the menu offers things like soups, sandwiches and falafel. I was there for bagels but sadly they were sold out that day, so I just had a wee look around while I was there. It’s a well stocked deli with a huge amount of food — groceries down the right hand side, a freezer in the middle and fridges on the left hand side. Cold meats like salt beef, breakfast salami as well as falafels and blintzes in the freezer. When I visited it was pretty busy and there was quite a few people in the café, as well as people doing a full shop in the deli section so it’s obviously very popular. I’ll be back to get some bagels and some of the cold meats(and maybe a visit to the café for some falafel!).

This Deli mainly caters for the Jewish community in the area, filled with freezers it could be described very similar to farm foods, but less selection. When l came into this store I accidentally walked the wrong was and ended up in the staff tearoom, they do have a dry goods area above the freezers where you can buy ambient products. The only down side was that everything was frozen and not fresh out of the fridge.

Whenever I pass Marks Deli I am usually with my friend also called Mark who always points out; «Oh look, there’s my deli» he says this every time we pass it on the bus which is probably about 2974974 times now, it never gets old though. This is a new branch of Marks Deli which specialises in kosher food for the Jewish community, it is a very popular little deli and also delivers orders to as far as Dundee and John O’Groats. They stock a wide range of fresh and frozen meats and traditional kosher foods. This is one of two kosher delis in Giffnock alongside Hello Deli and really useful resource if you are looking for kosher goods.
