The Howard Hall in Wigmore is probably better known as the Freemasons Hall. It is opposite the Smallholders Club in Woodside. If you can manage to get this hall, it’s a great size for a relatively small gathering — no more than 100 people. They allow you to use the kitchens and the bar is at club prices. They have a special area for the DJ or band, but beware the sound limiting because of neighbourhood proximity. Because of its size, it is a great venue for the smaller function. I’ve been here for several occasions, both personal and of a Freemason nature(and no, we’re not in it) and on every occasion it has been great. Book early to avoid disappointment, but don’t try for 18th or 21st birthdays — they just won’t do them due to past experience!
