Thought I’d fire in a 2015 review as the only other review on here I feel to be wholly inaccurate. I can honestly say Alan Edwards is by far the best salon I have ever been to. I usually head to the Wilson Street Salon but as Elle was working South Side I headed to Fenwick Road, and I will definitely be back. Amazing cut and colour as per usual with the added bonus of a lovely relaxed atmosphere plus really friendly staff and lush latte’s! I love Wilson Street for the hustle and bustle of the city but Fenwick Road was just that bit of zen. I’d recommend this salon to everyone.

Someone recommended the city centre Alan Edwards for a curly cut, and a specific stylist to boot. Stupidly, I thought I’d try their Giffnock outpost because it was more convenient to me. Bad move. I had a wonderful haircut when I first went in, which I stressed to my hairdresser that I really loved and did not want to deviate from. She did a dry cut, which is the practice at this salon and when she was done the cut looked perfect. She’d neatened out my overgrown hair, and shaped it back into it’s most flattering length. Then she washed my hair and cut at it some more. I didn’t think much of this, but the finished result was that she wiped out my old hair cut and gave me this unflattering, poofy… thing. Sad face. I was starting a new job a few days later and was so embarrassed to go in looking a decade older than when I’d interviewed with them two weeks previously. The haircut has finally grown out and I’ve found a much better stylist elsewhere, thank goodness. Even though I’ve seen a good curly haircut from Elaine at the city centre location, I would never go back here. Too traumatic!
