There are an endless number of reasons I will be spending the rest of my life with my boyfriend. One of the reasons is his ability to joke around with me regarding my love of big super stores, and then actually wanting to go to them with me. He is currently having a guys night at the flat and needed to get some snacks for the guys. Instead of going to a local food shop, we decided to take a walk to the BIG asda. I literally jumped for joy when he suggested it.(It’s really the small things) I get side tracked easily in these massive stores, I just want to look at everything but we didn’t have a ton of time, so we went for what we were looking for. He wanted to supply the guys with pies and chicken wings, crisps and other various snacks. He was surprised when I wasn’t filling the basket full of must have things we can’t find at our local shops, instead, all I wanted were some mushy peas and cider. Oh the mega selection of cider. I think out of the £35 we spent, most of it was on cider. He bough the usual, but I went for ones we’d never had before! We were happy leaving the store with our finds. Realising this Asda isn’t as far as we thought, I will definitely venture out here again for more stuff as needed. Life is exciting!

I’ve done many a shopping In here. As the layouts are all really the same. I get bargains out here all the time, and a wee while back they had pot noodles for 50p each, that made me buy loads. A tip for you all. If you like home baking. All the Asda stores bakery will give you free fresh yeast. Great for making pizza:)

This is one of the Big super store type Asdas, got everything you might fancy, and has a mezzanine floor for all the clothes and DVDs. Has the usual list of facilities /departments, plus one or two ones I was suprised to find. — Travel money — Photo processing They also have a good cafeteria all in all a good local Supermarket

This Asda benefits to a new top layer, creating even more stock! Top layer now hosts all clothes, DVD’s, computer gear, etc! Also a section for photo printing has opened inside to the right of the entrance! This supermarket includes items like toys, crockery, slow cookers, pretty much anything you can think of! Staff seem pleasant enough, offering to open those bags that seem glued together at the till area! Bit of a pain when asda is busy, queues can get long! So avoid peak times is my advice! Also keep an eye on sell by dates, last week I almost bought tattie scones that where almost 2 days over their date, from the bakery section too! But as a whole great shop, good variety of stock, especially some good wines!

Its got everything, and it is most certainly less expensive than other supermarkets of its type so, Horah! I love the whoops section, at around 7pm all the stck that is going out of date that day will get reduced on the ‘Whoops’ system. Thing is you see the man, or indeed woman, with the yellow sticker whoops gun must be followed. I can say I got my grandpa who is gluten intolerant, some nice brown bread(gluten free of course) for 2p a loaf, yes 2p, and this is nothing special, I also got innocent smoothies for 10p! So I was drinking the 8 of them I got for 80p for about 3 weeks. I love Whoops! It is exciting trying to seek out the good deals, I do enjoy Asda. Top supermarket.

You know exactly what to expect from ASDA, so I won’t bore you by going too far into the details. This particular store is pretty huge, covering groceries, clothes and homeware stuff, and also has quite a large café. It’s a fairly comprehensive supermarket, and the only complaint I can have with them is that they don’t stock clams, which are a vital ingredient in the only proper dish I know how to cook. Mollusc-based grievances aside, I recently made a fantastic discovery at ASDA. The deli counter does fresh curries and chinese food in takeaway style cartons that you cook at home. I’ve tried the vindaloo, korma and buhna, and can safely say they’ve all been as good as you’d find in most Indian restaurants. Unfortunately they don’t have proper nans or poppadoms, but the fact you can get a top-drawer curry and rice for less than £4 still makes them winners in my book.
