Such a fun day! I was looking forward to this event, even though I thought I was rubbish at pool(or perhaps Mr Debs is just really good at pool, since playing him is how I ranked my pool skills before this day) but I knew it would be fun no matter what! As others have already said, oor Graeme H did a seriously excellent job of organising the league tables and everytihng, and it was clear that he’d put loads of effort in so first off, bravo for that! I’d never been to the Q Club before Pool Day, but I definitely intend to go back as 50p per game is a really good deal, it’s a nice, chilled out place to play pool as long as there aren’t any football fans in, and they sell BACONFRIES. Drinks are pretty cheap too! Myself and the aforementioned Mr Debs have plans at some point to spend another afternoon drinking beer and playing pool — I imagine we’ll probably try their toasties too! It was just really nice to hang out with lovely Unilocaly peeps, chilling out, playing pool and having a couple of drinks. I did also win my first game(sorry Brian!) and beat Austen M who was the overall winner(congrats!) so that totally means I’m a winner too. …right? I totally adored the trophies Graeme H had made up for the winners as well, and was actually really chuffed for him that he won one of them back, because as previously mentioned he had put so much effort into them! Already looking forward to the next one :)

Ok so we are going to need more stars for this! Officially it’s 5 but unofficially it should be 10. One of the greatest unofficial Unilocal events that I have been to. You could tell straight away that a lot of effort and work had been put into this day! The group were split into two league and we were right into the playoffs. I was on table 2 with Bri, Rocco & Ally G! And at first I thought I was going to be awful but after a few tips from Rocco I was playing like a pro… Well in my head that was. There was a trophy that I sadly did not win! The trophy was really impressive! Hand made Lego built spray painted gold! Graeme you have made the best event ever!!! This went to Austen M who won. What a great day and I cannot wait for next pool day. Thanks G!

I really wasn’t sure that pool was for me but who am I to turn down an afternoon of fun with Unilocalers? Graeme had organised this pool tournament(he’s been talking about it for over a year) and even made a special trophy for the day — a wee lego pool + shark spray-painted gold which I was very upset not to win. We were arranged into two groups for a tournament-style competition where we each got 3 or 4 games against different opponents. This was a brilliant idea as it meant we all got plenty of shots and nearly everyone won a game too(sorry Ally). There was definitely a range of skills — I haven’t played pool for years whereas some of us were clearly pool sharks *cough-Rocco-cough*. That being said, it was a total laugh and such a nice way to spend the afternoon — I mean sure, drinking in a pub is fun but add in some pool and it’s pretty much perfect. The Aberdeen game was even on the telly! Congrats to Austen who won the tournament this time and thank to Graeme for organising such a fun day. I can’t wait for the next one.

Without doubt one of my favourite ever unofficial or official Unilocal events. Graeme H put tonnes of effort into setting this up and it paid off as a brilliant day was had by all. Two leagues had been arranged, a score card written up and everyone played off against each other. The top two from each table then played off against each other in the semi finals. There ultimately ended up with 1st, 2nd and third places. There was really cool gold Lego trophies for first and second place. Which thanks to the artistic creativity of Graeme looked great and also gave something to be held up at the end for the winning photos. This was all done in the welcoming and surprisingly nice setting of the Q club.(It turns out it is not shady at all!) Great event. Cheers again G. Looking forward to the second one next year!
