Excellent, being going here for as long as I can remember, fantastic food and service, really friendly and reasonable price.

For the last 2 years I have been meaning to try the Delhi Darbar as I used to lived around the corner from it. It’s been on my list but I just never had the opportunity to go there. Last night my boyfriend and I went for the first time and I was ecstatic. We had a table booked for 8.30pm, however arrived not long after 8pm. We gave our names and headed to the bar, we figured if a table was available then we would be seated earlier. The place was completely packed and they had clearly over booked yet was still letting walk –ins in. I was really disappointed that about 10 walk ins were seated before us and we waited until 8.45pm. When we were finally seated it was at a make shift table that used to seat 4, but the staff just seperated the tables slightly. I was so unhappy with the table, the two men seated beside us were that close that they could pretty much share our food. A romantic dinner with two old guys I had never met. I figured I get out my cream puff and try and enjoy the night. We ordered Chicken Pokora and Veg Samosa. Both were lovely, I cannot fault them. The food was clearly made fresh. Not long after our starter the head waiter came over and offered to move us to a better seat as he stated he knew our table wasn’t suitable. I was so delighted with this and the night was back on track. I ordered the Lambi Karahi(with extra chilli) and my boyfriend ordered a chicken Korma. When our food arrived again we were more than pleased. My lamb tasted just as it should have and was not over cooked. It staff were friendly but clearly overworked. The restaurant is too small for the demand but that’s not the restaurants fault. The food however, is outstanding.

Been going here for years and it’s never let me down. Service is fast and friendly and the food and portion sizes are legendary. Very good value for money. Recommend the fish pakora :)

The Delhi Darbar is my local Indian and I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Been eating here since I can remember and I’ve never found anywhere as nice. The food is great and staff couldn’t be more friendly! Whether you sit in or take out you won’t be disappointed here! Two thumbs up!

Never mind the décor, enjoy the food on offer. Great portions&reasonable prices the volume of punters through the doors speak volumes, I travel from Denny to come here with the good lady.

I love this Indian restaurant. ’tis one of my faves. If you like Indian food, a lot of it and you like a bargain then this is the place my friend. Been coming here for about 6 or so years now and it’s the sign of a good restaurant that you make sure you go a little further than you would normally like to travel to go for a meal — this restaurant is in Auchinairn/Bishopbriggs so not exactly handy for me to get to(I don’t drive). We always go for the Set Menu which either 2 or more people can have and it’s a set price(yes, the price you see is what you pay for EVERYONE, that’s not a ‘per person’ price which is what we thought when we first went!) and a total bargain ~ I can’t remember exactly the prices but put it this way I have never paid more than about £16(give or take) for full 4 course meal with alcoholic drinks. This is almost unheard of in other Indian restaurants. So when we seen the prices we thought ‘hang on… this means it’ll either be poor quality or poor portions’ Nope. Not at all. They do one of my favourite Chicken Tikkas ever. The chicken is just gorgeous. We always alter the Set Menu a bit too ~ change the plain nan for a garlic one or fried to boiled rice, etc… this is never a problem and the staff are always more than happy to change anything on the menu to your liking. The waiting staff are always friendly, if a little busy/overworked looking, but as I said they’re always willing to make the experience and meal exactly how you like it. Sometimes we’ve had to wait a wee while for a table(even when we’ve booked a table) but this is because this place is so darn popular ~ some nights it’s just a steady and constant flow of hungry buddies coming in and rolling out again, bellies full. This, I would say is a good sign. The take-away side of the restaurant always seems busy too and I’ve heard it’s very good also. Another nice wee ‘extra’ thing is they give you complimentary poppadoms and spiced onions & Bombay mix not long after you sit down ~ never a bad thing. Another thing I love about DD is the fact when myself and my friends go we like to make a night of it ~ so we have a lot of food, quite a lot of drinks(not too many, hic!) and we like to stay a loooong time. In fact 9 times out of 10 we’re usually the last ones left in the restaurant, much to our embarrassment. But never once are we asked to leave or even hinted at/glared at to leave. This I like. Nowt worse than finishing your meal only to be glowered at by huffy waiting staff until you ask for the bill. Let me RELAX after my meal you beasts! *sigh* If I lived closer to this place I would fo’ sure be here more often and I’d get plenty o’take-aways, I’d be the SIZE of the Delhi Darbar but damn I’d be happy!

Took my parents for a wedding anniversary. Had a fantastic night. Food was delicious and we got complimentary starters as well as popadoms and spicey onions etc. We were served quickly and our food didn’t take long. Restaurant was mobbed even at 6pm on a Saturday. Food was still sizzling as it arrived at the table and was absolutely delicious. It’s also very reasonably priced compared to many Indian restaurants.

Dehli Darbar is just your usual Indian restaurant, except they bring you lots of complimentary tasty things like spiced onions and chicken wings. Wow! I couldn’t believe it! The restaurant was pitch dark almost though, I left with eye strain! If they had turned up the lights the whole experience would have been a lot better, it was difficult to even see the food. The prices were not expensive although you could have guessed ot was not fine dining from the décor which was a bit cheesy Indian. The portions, the important part, were huge!

I’ve always been more of a Chinese food fan to be honest, but I’m starting to come around to the many delicious Indian dishes on offer so i was happy to visit this restaurant in Bishopbriggs to widen my variety. It looks a little shabby from the outside, and the doorway is not facing the road so it might be a little hard to catch passing trade. Once we’d parked up in the teeny weeny car park, we made our way into the restaurant. The carpets in the entrance were a little shabby and the décor typical of an Indian restaurant, reds and golds and pictures of gods. The lighting was incredibly low(bring a wee torch to see what your eating) and there were small rugs all across the ceiling. It was tacky to say the least but nothing out of the ordinary for an Indian eatery. We had to wait a few minutes for them to set up a table and the place was pretty busy for 6pm on a Thursday night. It would possibly be a good idea to book if you were visiting Delhi Darbar to make sure you get in. I really liked the fact that we were given complimentary poppadoms and dips, with no need to order a starter as they also brought a plate of chicken wings in an Indian sauce to the table too! Quite unusual for a restaurant to be so generous! I ordered Chicken Dansac, and we had a rice between two and a Nan bread between 4, plenty to go around. The rice portions were huge! The dansac was tasty, the chicken melting in the mouth and the rice was hot and fresh. I couldn’t fault any of it, and by the time we were finished, there was enough left to go around again! The bill for 4 people was just over ten pounds per head including drinks, my dansac coming in at a very respectable 5.50. I would definitely come back here, it is incredible value for money excellent service and clearly a very popular place, as a table of 8 were being seated just as we left. Delhi Darbar’s is a real Indian delight!

Local people rave on about this place being so good. There is a restaurant and take away. Tried to get a take away one Saturday night — never again. The area to order take away’s is tiny, is was packed with people. Our order took about 40 minutes. There were people who were in before us and were still waiting when we left(over an hour), and others who came in later and got their order quickly. The girl taking the orders didn’t seem to have a clue. Anyway apart from the wait the food wasn’t very good, like something you could get from the local fast food take away –not restaurant quality at all. Not very impressed.
