Fairly good prices and bargains and better homewares etc than primark across the hall

Glaswegian comedian, Kevin Bridges, once described Dunnes as being«somewhere inbetween Primark and shoplifting» at a show I was at. So it’s fair to say my expectations were low. It was with great surprise, therefore, that what I actually discovered was a well set-out department store with a fantastic range of household items. Far from being the pound shop junk I expected, I thought the stuff was genuinely nice and, although cheap, not overly so, thus suggesting it was reasonable quality. With a good range of cheap clothing as well, I think it’s more accurate to say Dunnes is somewhere inbetween Marks and Spencers and Primark, and equally fair to say Mr Bridges won’t be the face of the Irish store any time soon.

Dunnes at The Forge is kind of like Primark only more expensive, a lot of the stuff is the same. I do like their home items and at Christmas they have very nice decorations. They also have a more expensive line of clothes calles Savida which does have some nice things. I think it would be good if they had a food section like they do in Ireland.
