I enjoyed what I believe was an authentic Glasgow/Italian experience. Focaccia was delish. Gnocchi was delightful. Dessert tasty. The latte was divine.

The mozzarella and tomateo. Salad was tasty. The veal marsala was ok. The veal was good, the sauce had no marsala flavor.

The feel of the restaurant is very much cosy Italian trattoria, it was warm, welcoming and a pleasure to be there. There are picture and Italian football scarves decorating the walls which gives it the feel that you are in someones front room, which was only enforced by the staff who were extremely helpful — it was just like being at mama’s house for Sunday dinner. I do have one serious niggle with the restaurant — the bathroom was about a mile walk away, I had to walk down a large rickety staircase, along a series of corridors — passed an entry to another restaurant(yes another restaurant — I can only presume that they maybe share the bathroom??!) and eventually found my way to my destination. A small niggle but a niggle none the less The menu selection was substantial with 2 pages of starters alone! Everything looked amazing — I chose the Bresaola Punta D’Anca to start which was thinly sliced beef fillet which had been marinated in Bresaola served with a peppery rocket salad and parmigano and a serving of foccacia. The beef was beautiful and soft and tasted like a little slice of heaven, and the foccacia was really tasty — it was doughy and salty and very moreish. For my main I went for Spaghetti alle Polpette della Nonna which is home made pork and beef meatballs served with spaghetti in a ragu sauce. The pictures I took of this dish don’t do the size of the portion justice — it was HUGE! But my god it was so delicious — it was so good, the pasta was perfectly cooked and the ragu was really fresh and well seasoned. I can’t recommend this dish enough. After the massive portion there was no way I could make room for a Tiramisu even thought I wanted to try I was just too full. This is a great wee restaurant which I can’t wait to visit again.

My friend and I came here today after a wine tasting and from the out set the waiter(or manager) was very poor at his job, he had a moody look on his face, he did not look after our table(my friend and I) very well at all plus it was not that busy, secondly we waited 30 mins on our pasta! I was going to order us a sweet but because he was so bad at his job and our food took so long to get to our table we just got the bill(£50) and left! He even took 15 mins to get us our bill! Not good not good at all! We will not be back.

The wife and me had spent a good few hours trekking round the city centre buying cards, comics, books and other assorted bits to fill our bags and so were in serious need of a decent meal. So with a quick tap on my Unilocal app I checked out the nearest places to eat. I was tempted by more burgers and fries but I had a bit of a hankering for some Italiano scran so when Fratelli Sarti popped up, the choice was made! I pass this little place quite often on my way up to Sauchiehall Street from work and always fancied having a meal because I like the authentic Italian design and layout of the restaurant. We grabbed a seat inside and were immediately tended to by the waitress who took our drink orders(fresh lemonade and orange juice for me and the wife respectively). She also explained the day’s specials and pointed to some of the pricier items on the board, which sounded delicious but the wallet said no :(. Anyway, the lunch/pre-theatre menu is available til 6:30pm(£9.95 for 2 courses) and the selection, including the specials, suited us just fine. I took the waitress’s recommendation and had the pea and pancetta soup to start followed by Penne Salsiccia. The soup in particular was so nice, fresh and very filling given the pancetta content. The restaurant is very traditional with the usual kind of things lining the walls; football scarves, portraits of the old country, traditional Italian ingredients etc. Even the staff all knew(at least some of) the language). I have always been a huge fan of ll things Italy so this was a big bonus to me. I would definitely recommend stopping in here. I’ll be back for an evening meal, even if my wallet does groan out loud! I have yet to try the bigger restaurant down the road on the corner of Union Street but I reckon this smaller, cosier store would be hard to beat.

What can I say? What a great place! Sarti @ Wellington St. is an Italian restaurant with a traditional room, very tasty food, delicious wine while served by very attantive staff. It really was my first time in Sarti and I am thinking already to go back. The greeting was very warm from the staff. We were 4 of us and we all had the same opinion. The food: involtini speck, mozzarella piemontes, focaccia rosemary were amazing(involtini were incredible!!!). Pizza, lasagne, spaghetti with meatballs, penne deliziose absolutely perfectly cooked. We enjoyed every dish. We had 4 ice creams caramel with espresso and limoncello. Believe me: memorable experience!!! A bottle of prosecco,(nice and chilled) red and white wine. The staff was friendly and attentive with the supervision of the italian owner Renato. We left the restaurant so late, we were actually the last table in the house, Renato came and introduced himself and OMG, so much laugh! I deeply recommend Sarti to anyone for a good evening tasting delicious Italian food. Thanks again.

As a born and bred Glaswegian, I’m ashamed to say it took me nearly 26 years to experience the long-established culinary institution that is Sarti’s. We went here for a graduation celebration, although we didn’t have the graduation menu. The atmosphere was very authentically Italian — if you ignored the sheets of Glaswegian rain outside the window, you could almost fool yourself that you were actually in Italy! The staff all seemed to be Italian as well, delivering entertaining banter and impressively thorough menu expertise in their beee-yoo-tiful accents. I was even offered some meat in my arrabiata, which had been listed with a wee«v» next to it, so it seems that the menu, and thus, the chef, are pretty flexible. Some members of our party opted out of having a starter, but those who did were blown away both by the generosity of the portions, and the freshness and sheer variety of ingredients in the salads. The mains were similarly delicious, and overall, the only disappointment was that a couple of the desserts we ordered weren’t available. The bill felt like good value, given the quality of the food — for our party of six, it worked out at about £20 a head. As I mentioned, some of us didn’t have a starter and some only had a soft drink rather than alcohol, but for a top notch meal on a special occasion, nobody was complaining. Worthy of note is that the Wellington Street restaurant shares its toilets with its Bath Street counterpart — the 2 restaurants are linked by network of corridors and back stairs. Helpfully, there is a poster with the restaurant’s phone number in case you get lost on your way to or from the loo!

The only place to go for pizza, delicious thin crust exquistely made pizza in a whole host of flavours. Service may be a little slow at times due to the amount of people eating out at the weekend but a lovely surroundings to enjoy your food.
