GAMER’S FIX So today is Him Indoors’ birthday… he decided last night he wanted to have«a two-console household»…ooookaaaaay darling! ;-) He’s already got a PS4 and today I got him a Wii U in this Game store. The location is very handy, close to loads of transport and central! As soon as we asked for assistance, a very friendly girl came over and helped us out. She immediately told us about a bundle deal, where basically you get the console(for the normal price it is everywhere…) and a wee accessories pack free… and there are cheaper games(premium and new titles) should you chose to buy them at that point. The accessory pack had a wee stylus(the Wii U game controller is a huge thing with a touch screen and buttons etc, so this is a great wee bonus for NOMONEY!!) a screen protector for the controller screen and a pouch to keep the controller safe when not in use… FABULOUS wee extra! The staff member then showed us where the pre-owned games were, there was a good selection! Him Indoors had a rewards card, so she happily put the points on there for us and explained that the points don’t register for 24 hours, again, helpful! He spied another game he liked the look of so asked her to put it aside whilst we went to look for other bday pressie stuff elsewhere(we ended up not going elsewhere, but she had already set it aside for him, so it was available ready to go at the till.) I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone looking for games/consoles/iPads etc… they have a great selection(of new and pre owned games and consoles!) and they take pre orders too for the next Big Thing!

This is your typical Gamestation and just like every other games store really. However I find that this one tends to be better stocked and has games that I’ve had trouble finding elsewhere. It’s also a pretty big store and the staff are ok. Some are friendlier than others…

An extremely handy location be this Gamestation and one of the biggest stores to boot. Filled with, well you guessed it, games for every console under the sun, sold at decent enough prices. If i’m ever in the position where i can justify spending x amount on a game rather than food for my baby or a bunch of flowers for the wife, then this is one of the joints i will check out as i do the rounds. In the main, i usually find these guys to have the better deals and for me the staff look more like actual gamers than they do in say Game(i stand to be corrected on this though). You will also find a good selection of used and pre owned games and consoles in here, some of which can be pretty good bargains. Check it out.

This place has got to be one of the banes of my life. Apart from having a sneaky go on my big brother’s Sega some years ago, I have never played a computer game. I may yet discover what all the fuss is about and never leave the house again. Or worse move back in with my folks and never leave their house again. God forbid. So, as you might have guessed I’m not really a fan of this shop. All the more so because the boy is. Hence, a quick trip to Fopp or a cheeky pint in town can all too often revolve around a ‘quick look’ in here. Needless, to say this quick look is neither quick or ‘a look’. Instead, it translates to an hour and a half troll through all their available stock and usually a good forty minute conversation with members of staff(yes, sometimes multiple). Subsequently, I can confidently say that if you are into computer games, or are striving to be, this is a great place to visit. They have masses of stock, a good range of products, reasonable prices(and sometimes excellent deals too) and really good, pleasant staff who know their stuff.

This Gamestation is located right next to central station so pretty handy. For some reason this Gamestation seems to have one of the best selection of pre-owned games and I got Gamecube Wario Ware from here for only £7! What a bargain, it’s such a good game too and I used to play it with my friends all the time. My favourite was a game where you had to beat each other at mini games and if you lost your character had to balance on the underside of a turtle for 5 seconds and if you fell off then it was game over. Even though I love this game so much I don’t actually think I’ve ever won it, oh well. Anyway, Gamestation is great for pre-owned games and consoles my old flatmate had a karaōke diva in her and bought Singstar from here which was hilarious for flat parties. Great games, fabulous prices and really friendly staff, recommended!

Probably my favourite Gamestation. It’s on a good location on Union Street near Fopp(a cheeky combo of CD’s and video games, please?) and Glasgow Central. They have a huge range of video games on all the big consoles including X-Box, Wii and PS3 with different members of staff stating clear preferences for which one is their favourite. It’s important to know this when you make big purchases because they will steer you away/towards particular products. They do good trade-ins and bundles and are always bang up to date with the latest releases. It’s pretty big inside with plenty of room to move around and they always have playable demos of new releases which is always fun!
