I admit it. This used to be my local Greggs and I’d stop here on the way to work for a sandwich and a bun. That’s why I am now on a permanent diet. Greggs has a bad reputation, but this store seemed to be the exception: the service was quick fire, the food fresh and the early morning queue a testament to quality, even I never got stuck waiting. In retrospect, a bowl of corn flakes would have been healthier, but the introduction of a more exotic sandwich range– I can’t stand their generic rolls– coincided with my greedy period, and made this, for about six months, my one stop breakfast stop.
