Now, I’m pretty sure you all understand the concept of vintage. I’m pretty sure all of us have got our heads round the second hand clothes shop — and have all partaken in a little rack-hunting through rails of «pre-loved» clothes. Right, I’m about to throw something different at you now; how about vintage KIDS clothes? Yes, yes, I can see you all shaking your heads at me now — but hear me out. Although it’s definitely the fashion now to dress your kids in dinky little versions of what you yourself are wearing(i.e. tunics, leggings and uggs) the thing is that kids grow really quickly. This means that by the time they’ve worn their levi jeans three or four times — they probably don’t fit anymore. Now, you could always give the clothes your kids grow out of to family members, friends or neighbours OR you could take a much more economical view and sell them to Love It Again. Plus, next time you fancy buying your little bundle of joy a fancy party dress — you could take a trip to Love It Again and browse through their racks. You’ll find plenty of lovely clothes of great quality that are very realistically priced. You’re starting to come around to this idea now, aren’t you?!

We’ve gone too far people, too far. Retro/vintage clothes for kids… kids! Why? Why oh why oh why oh why… i could go on, my fingers don’t hurt yet. Remind me now, kids. Aren’t they the small squishy type things that like to play in dirt, climb trees and generally do kid like things? They are!, good coz for a while there i was starting to question my sanity. Now with this fact established the question i must therefore ask is why in name of all that is shinny and bright are we even contemplating buying them designer, vintage gear. I mean, its for sure not in anyway for there benefit, so therefore it must be for ours… well its for sure not mine. This is mental folks. Yes fair enough there are other non essential shops out there selling luxury items but good god this one for me takes the biscuit. Well, i must in some way offer an apology to this store, i know the review smacks of disapproval(no, it does) but I’m sure its a decent enough place from what i saw in my brief visit. Nice enough, good selection but why?

Glasgow has an amazing selection of shops for every taste but what has become apparent to me is their range of designer clothing shops for children. I find it very peculiar and think of it as ridiculous, almost distasteful to some extent but what I can say about this little shop is that as a «vintage» children’s clothes shop it is a very good business idea. Not to sure where the line should be drawn between handy-downs and vintage but based purely on ethically green concerns of reusing rather than throwing away, this business is pretty clever and kind to the environment. I am not very sure about the pricing of children’s clothes believe it or not but this shop seemed reasonable and will hopefully buck the trend of overpriced kiddies clothes shops for people with more money than sense.

As if the trend for vintage hasn’t gone far enough, loveitagain is a kids’ vintage store. There are a lot of brand names in here, but it all seems a bit unnecessary to me. I don’t really agree with«fashionable kids» being trussed up as if it matters. But anyway, if this is your kind of thing, I would definitely recommend it because the clothes are cute and always in fashion. Some clothes are sold up to age 15, so some things in here would even fit me or other miniature older people.
