Mint and Lime is a bar attached to the Euro Hostel. They do a lot of cheap deals on food and drinks and I think you can get a further discount if you sign up for their loyalty card. Possibly because it’s attached to the Euro Hostel you get a really mixed crowd in here. I quite like that. It can’t really be said to be a «studenty pub» or an «old man pub» or anything like that because there isn’t really just one group of people who drink here. It’s not huge but it also doesn’t get quite as busy as the Wetherspoons nearby which I guess is probably its main competitor. So there’s a good chance of getting a seat on a busy night, even if you bring a crowd. WiFi is free(but you have to check in on Facebook) and there’s a pool table near the back of the bar. I’m tempted to come back here if only because the prices are good and I’m tempted by the nachos I saw someone else order. They looked seriously cheesy.

This place use to be called Osmosis, it had a pool table, Nintendo wii on the big screen, and a great music machine that had a great Rock Metal selection. Now sadly it does not have any of that and it’s name is now Mint&Lime. Not as good as it use to be, but still a good venue compared to others. The Euro Hostel is directly built on to this, so you can get in here via the outside doors or the hostel, without having to go outside. I’m watching he Celtic v Rangers game on the tvs and they also have a projector that is huge. They sell food, and it’s very central and close to argyle street. Not as good as before but still ok.

Once upon a hen night, I visited this place with a big crowd who were up from south of the border. As they were all staying in the Euro Hostel, to which this bar is attached, this was the base of operations where all the Wally’s who didn’t travel up with the wild Cumbrian lasses would be meeting. The drinks were cheap, and it was fairly quiet when the night began, so you could get at the bar and order what you wanted. The seating is comfy and plentiful, and there’s also a pool table for your pubby entertainment needs. The staff very kindly had allowed us to set up some saucy Hen games, one of which almost resulted in various blindfolded ladies accidentally walking into the gent’s toilets(it was like pin the tail on the donkey but different). The staff even took pictures of our enormous group all together, which was very above and beyond the call of duty, so well done nice barmen!!! All in all, twas a quiet wee bar that was a great starting place for the whole evening. Probably not somewhere you’d stay the whole night, but nice enough in an easy to reach location. In my experience, you don’t often find bars attached to Hostels so nice!
