Brilliant compared to Hamilton, don’t get me wrong Hamilton has improved but anyway the fort(once you get a seat) is by far the best I’ve been to so far The order was quick the staff are open and friendly the people The food order was good and the atmosphere was brilliant Well done great experience

Really what is all the Nandos hype about. I just don’t get it at all. I tasted it for the first time in Durban back in 2004 and was not that impressed and nothing has ever changed my mind. In general I think it’s pretty average food, that comes in small portions, has poor sauces and is very overpriced. They have two levels of food taste. Bland or to hot to eat spicey. The above is true for all Nandos, my particular annoyance with this store is it’s always mobbed. Probs a blessing in disguise as it puts me off going due to the queue. One positive. I think the spicy mayo is good.

I remember I use to love Nando’s, but the last time I was there it was a bit ‘meh’. It is quite expensive just for some Peri-Peri chicken. The chicken I found to be a little boring and it just seemed to be normal chicken covered in their sause. Don’t get me wrong, I can’t live without my ‘Hot Nando’s Peri-Peri Sauce’ but you could make the same dish at home for a few quid. The chips are tasty with Peri-Peri sprinkle and sause, but there really isin’t anthing that you couldn’t re-create at home. To get into the actual shop you usually need to wait a while for a table to be cleaned, and once you do get in the shop is very draughty and it makes it an unpleasant experience to eat in the shop. The frozen youghurt is refreshing after you have eaten your fireball of a dish(although it will make your cold back from the constant draught worse) All-in-all, I would get a take away from here if you have never had a Nando’s experience before. (BTW for being known for being spicy, it isin’t as spicy as everyone says. I grow Scotch Bonnet chilies)

Phoned up Nando’s in the fort earlier for a collection, because Colin and I were feeling some Nando’s but couldn’t be bothered going out for dinner because he was working tonight. Short and sweet review, I phoned up and placed the order, and we headed up to pick it up. Waited a couple of minutes and it was ready, and very tasty! Only qualm was that it was wrongly labeled, as I’d ordered plain and the label said cheese, and I didn’t notice till I was home. Luckily it was only mislabeled and it was a lovely, tasty plain chicken. Yum!

well does anyone really expect great food, when your whole menu is based on poor quality cook in sauces. and that’s the point in nando’s, not worth the bother

Not entirely sure what Mr Dead is saying about this place… Nando’s don’t use«cook in sauces» as they grill all their food. Yes, they marinade the chicken, but that’s why people love Nando’s, because of the Peri-Peri marinades! I’m a massive spice fan and I think this place is great. It’s not a particularly noteworthy franchise of Nando’s, but it’s still great!

I was dragged here by my carnivorous boyfriend who loves nothing more than chowing down on a big piece of chicken on the bone. Maybe it’s a cave-man-esque guy thing, who knows? This place was bursting with hungry shoppers, taking a break and getting stuck into some massive platefuls of food. The specialty here is chicken, whether it’s a quarter, a half or even a whole chicken if you can manage it. Customers are able to select how hot they would like their chicken to be, by choosing which peri peri sauce they would like it to be cooked in, from mild to extra hot. The general clientele here is big burly guys with eyes bigger than their bellies, chowing down on as much chicken as they can handle. There is also a selection of salads and side dishes for those not looking to gorge quite as much.

Nandos is a Portuguese restaurant chain in the UK, and has gained a lot of popularity in the past few years. This one is located at the Glasgow Fort, in the east end, just off junction 10 of the M8 motorway. It’s a good location with plenty of shops around, and is usually bustling if not quite busy. It can get pretty mobbed in the evenings, so lunch is a good time to visit. THe menu is quite extensive, you can chose a ¼ chicken, ½ chicken, 5 chicken wings(which are actually very big), chicken burgers, and a whole host of sides. Simple things like a chicken burger and chips leave much to be desired, so I’d recommend the 5 chicken wings and the spicy rice as a side. There are loads of options as you can choose 1 side, or choose between 2 sides, or 1 «fancy» side for a little extra. Service is like a pub food system, you order at the bar and tell them your table number, and they’ll deliver it to you when it’s ready. In the meantime you pour your own fountain drinks and collect your own cutlery and sauces. What Nandos is really known for is its sauce options. You can choose a mild option: mango and lime, or lemon and herb; or you can tackle the heat with medium, hot, and extra hot options. I’m not fantastic with spicy food, but even as a lover of Mexican food, I found the medium pretty spicy, but tasty, myself. Overall the experience sounds a lot better in theory than it is in practice. The décor is nice but as it’s the Fort it has been beaten up in a swift fashion. I enjoyed it but having had other people hype it up it wasn’t as good as I had anticipated. Once you find a favourite dish I’m sure it’d be a gift that keeps on giving!
