Trying out as many places in my hood as possible now! So glad that there are decent places literally next to my flat! Yay! Came down to Ollie’s on an incredibly sunny day. Note: they are located within a sun trap so sunbath away while having some wine or food in their outdoor area. I was starving so ordered their beef burger which comes with chips, kale slaw and salad! YASSGETINMAHBELLY. I also added cheese to make it even more juicy mmmmmmmm The portion is great and the food itself was good! Especially for a hangry person like me. The staff members were kind enough to bring me a whole jug of iced water because it was literally roasting under the sun! That’s service right there haha The price was about £12.95 I think. K yes super pricey for a neighbourhood café restaurant but at least it was well made. Just don’t go over err’day and order a beef burger! Then you’re good haha Will definitely head back to try their cakes and other dishes. So far, a thumbs up for me! :-)

Popped in for a quick coffee one evening, have yet to try the food, but the café is warm and welcoming and feels like a little bistro. I’ll review this properly when I have food, but I can say that my double espresso hit the spot perfectly and came with a lovely piece of tablet. Delicious.

What a lovely wee find this was, my office relocated last year and there are not many nice places to lunch nearby. I drove past this place a couple of times and me and a couple of colleagues decided to give it a try. The décor is light and airy with a feel of being at the beach(well for me anyway) lots of light blues. It is small and I can imagine could get pretty busy. We arrived and got a lovely window seat. The staff were friendly, helpful and fun. I ordered the cheeseburger minus the bun and it was delicious I especially liked the chillislaw. The tomatoe sauce comes in cute little jars. We all enjoyed our food, the only downside was the price as I feel it was slightly over priced for what we had. Over £10 for a burger. But that aside I will defo go back again.

I tried to get a seat at the brasserie around the corner and after waiting a while for them to acknowledge me, they said they couldn’t seat me, so not knowing the area I was pleased to see this place across the road I was not disappointed The service was just better run that the place around the corner, straight away they were attentive throughout my stay there I sat outside away from the crowds and enjoyed my drink and meal The roast beef sandwich was fantastic as was the dressing on the very fresh salad. The tea was a pleasant surprise to… Real tea leaves … Gave a fantastic brew Safe to say I have been back several times since my first visit

Booked Ollie’s last minute for an early dinner on the pre theatre @ £9.95 for 2 courses. * Excellent Food * Excellent Atmosphere * Friendly Staff Only minor point was that we were left with 2 empty plates for about 15 minutes so much so that i just went up to the counter and asked for the bill, we would have sat and had another drink but no one came to clear the plates or ask if we wanted one. Will certainly go back though! Visited May 2015

I have been to ollie’s a couple of times now. Tonight, I went for the two courses for £9.95 pre– theatre which was excellent value for money. I had a burger followed by salted caramel ice cream with chocolate sauce — both were nice and the service was great. It is really nicely decorated with a comfy, relaxed atmosphere.

Ollie’s is a beautifully decorated smaller restaurant that has outdoor seating for when the sun is shining. We came with a group of 6 on a weekend day for lunch and they were very friendly and accommodating. We didn’t make a booking and were seated in a large booth in the back that was super comfy and out of the way. If you’re in a larger group i definitely recommend this area as it feels somewhat private. It has a pastel blue and white nautical theme, modern and relaxing. The service was so impressive, i do wonder if our waitress was also the manager as she really was on the ball. It wasn’t quite by any means and we were never without a drink. Everyone was super impressed with the food, every plate was polished off. The food really is of a high quality, i would go as far to say arguably the best in the south side(based off of this lone visit). A really fabulous place that i look forward to returning too, highly recommend.

I went along to a works Christmas lunch today and ended up visiting this place for the first time. I had never heard of it before today, but was up for giving it a try, It’s a bistro style place and is quite nice décor wise. It all looks fresh and fairly new. It was absolutely jumping with folk out for Christmas lunch and I was glad we had a table booked. Meals varied from sandwiches at 6 quid to fancier mains going up to 15 or 16 pounds. Probably no surprise to you all. I went with a burger and fries for just under a tenner. The fries were great, skinny with slaw and Mayo on the side. The burger was average. Nice toasted bun, but pretty plain and bland meat. Standard stuff for a place not specialising in burgers. The food could just about be a three. Sadly though the service was appallingly slow. Everything was a wait and they seemed really disorganised. Friendly staff but a shambles in terms of service. So sadly two stars.
