Oscar & Fitch

I wrote a review a while ago on the rapid deterioration of my eyesight and the fact that I keep talking to the lampshade in the far corner of my room thinking it’s my mum. Easy mistake to make and it’s still a dilemma as I haven’t bothered to go an get my eyes tested despite the fact that I’m like Mr Magoo.
There are a few reasons I don’t want glasses;
1) My parents always moan about how they hate wearing glasses/​contact lenses.
2) G-​Bot has vowed to call me speccy-​4-​eyes.
3) I have an odd shaped head and don’t even suit sunglasses.
4) My mum has stood on/​sat on I don’t know how many pairs of glasses and then had to fork out for yet another pair. My track record with sunglasses isn’t that great so I’m not sure I trust myself with actual glasses, with actual lenses.
5) I’m a brain box as it is, I don’t want to intimidate people by my Egghead IQ by wearing glasses that make me look even more intelligent. Jeesh…
To be truthful, I could probably do with a pair of specs to make me look like I have a few extra brain cells.
I never thought I would want to wear glasses but after passing Oscar and Fitch the other day I fell in love with just about every frame on show. They are so cool and I couldn’t believe the prices as some of the frames are as little as £80! I had expected them to be around £200-£300 but at that price I don’t mind wearing glasses.
They have so many frames here, all very trendy and there really is something for every taste.
I’m booking an appointment with the opticians first thing next week to find out the damage and then I will head straight along to Oscar and Fitch to pick out a pair of beauties.

As a person that had to endure the pain of wearing glasses since age 3 or 4, when glasses were absolutely not cool (despite my parent’s insistence to the contrary, lies), and considering I still have to wear glasses and do so for a large part of the day, the arrival of Oscar & Fitch absolutely delighted me and my style craving, underperforming eyes.
Ok, luckily for me, glasses are now a very cool and stylish accessory to drape on your face, whether you need them or not, because it makes you look intelligent and a bit quirky and lots of other positive things that didn’t exist when I was younger. I’m not bitter, honestly…
Anyway, as you’ll be able to guess from reading this review, I have years of experience in wearing and selecting glasses, so I can tell you now that Oscar & Fitch have by far the largest, latest, most stylish and appealing selection of glasses I have ever seen in one room. The whole reason I am able to write this review without making typos because I can’t see, while looking pretty on trend if I do say so myself, is because I’m wearing a pair of their amazing specs in black, with snazzy pink edges. If you’re anywhere on the spectrum between remotely fashionable and ridiculously trendy, this shop has every colour, design, style and look of glasses you could ever wish for. Oscar & Fitch has given me the reassurance that I’ll never have to go back to the days of Elton John style glasses in bright purple with frames bigger than my face, and an extra triangle pattern for good hideous measure. Weeping slightly into my keyboard at the memory.

Do you wear glasses that you don’t need (like my pretentious boyfriend)? Do you need glasses but refuse to wear them (like I do, and the computer is slowly turning you blind)? Either way, there’s something to stroke your ego, or change your mind. Some fantastic frames for every face in bright and unusual colours. Not that I’m wearing any now, wait. who said that?
