The 1980’s was good for something’s but most people would rather forget them years. With cheesy music, sticky floors & tables not forgetting the non existent bar service, nearly an hours wait to be served beats O’Neils bar on Sauchiehall street’s record. Some staff here looked rather brain dead especially James one of the bar tenders, if he went any slower rigor mortise would set in. Not a bar that I would ever really choose to go to, the only reason that I came here was that the group I was with wanted to go here. There was a positive note, there is a KFC a few yards up the road for a take away on your way home.

shocking, bar staff treat you like you are invisible, standing for half an hour trying to buy a drink, no cloak room to put your jacket in, member of staff said she didnt have a key for cloakroom then said the door lock was broken on cloakroom, whole club left holding jackets all night, more bar staff needed

This was stop number two of a hen night I was attending with a big crowd of wild Cumbrian lasses. I’ve been to the Reflex a couple of times on a Friday night, usually regretting it because of all the skeezy 40/50-something men who follow young ladies around the club doing their best creeper impression. I was even pursued all the way to the door of the ladies bathroom once! It’s OK if you can stick to your friends as you dance and such, but one must be wary of strange menfolk trying to seperate you from the herd like a straggling gazelle. So, given my previous experiences, I was actually surprised to find that early on in the evening the Reflex experience is not bad at all! *gasp* It seems that Reflex is the den of the various Hen and Stag brigades, as you could see every group in their various uniforms — we were all Where’s Wally, but there were police women, cave men, and super heroes a-plenty! If you booked a table with over ten people, you were given free cava for your party, which we drank greedily before ordering trays of shots from the bar and heading out on the dance floor to jig around our handbags to some cheesy dance music. This place is touted to be an 80’s bar, but either the DJ doesn’t know what music is precisely in the 80’s(unlikely), or the 80’s nostalgia crowd is no longer the target audience(more likely). There was music from the 60’s and 70’s, but there were a lot more 90’s songs than those from the 80’s. Call me picky, but that is just not as advertised. Didn’t stop me from dancing to everything, mind you! After all, who doesn’t enjoy a bit of ‘Saturday Night’ and the ‘Macarena’ mixed in with some old school Madonna and Elvis? Reflex is one of those places that is best enjoyed prior to 9pm, but young ladies beware after 10pm for the hordes of prowling midlife crises are ready to spring!

So Reflex eh? Well it was my friend’s hen night and this was her choice of dancing venue after our meal, which made me a happy bunny. I do love them 80s tunes being an 80s child in all. When we walked through the pub Edward’s via the Renfield Street entrance it was so cringy as the music was awful and the clientele was em… Anyway, we headed up the stairs to Reflex and my ears loved me lots. The music is awesome and they have many teles dotted round the room playing them classic 80s music videos. It was brilliant but why you ask I only give it 3 stars. Well it was a Saturday night and it was mobbed. We were getting pushed about, people being rude to us and we ended up standing in the middle of the club trying to just find a wee spot we could huddle round and keep together. There was also other hen parties so it was pretty mental. It took ages to get served at the bar as they also sell crazy 80s accessories. Madonna boobs anyone?! We coudn’t really dance much, there is a dance floor but you kinda wanted somewhere to put your stuff so felt we couldn’t go up as were hanging onto our drinks and coats. I do really like this place and I would go back but maybe when it’s not as mental. It’s a good alternative compared to some of the dancing clubs you get in Glasgow. So get your Madonna boobs on and Vogue!

I found this place while doing photography for pubs/clubs and I was assigned this place one night and thought WOOYEAH80’s! Reflex is situated in the upstairs of Missoula(A lovely spacious bar that serves the most delicious smelling food.(I’ve always been too busy doing photos to eat the food). Because of the clever situation you can go straight from dinner and drinks to getting your groove on in a matter of minutes, no need to leave! The mother-in-law and I came here for a night out on Saturday night and went straight upstairs to Reflex for some cocktails which they do in glasses or pitchers if your feeling bold! This being an 80’s bar the music you won’t hear any Nicki Minaj(Thank heavens!) Just the good olé’ tunes from the good olé’ days!

This place terrifies me. If you don’t like 80’s music stop reading NOW. From air guitaring men old enough to be your dad to gaggles of woman screaming how they just wanna have fun. Reflex has a completely mixed customer base. The theme is, emm, 80s, 80s and more 80s. From fun named cocktails guaranteed to get you merry and enough flashing lights to land a plane, Reflex is the ultimate cheesy night out! The over enthusiastic staff are kitted out in 80s gear and even do co-ordinated dance routines. If you feel a little inadequately dressed never fear! Visit the bar and buy a pair of gigantic glasses, a sparkly wig or even an inflateable guitar. Reflex definitely has big fans amongst the Glasgow revellers — I’m just not one of them !

Reflex is an unashamedly cheesy 80’s bar, upstairs from Edwards. Specialising in all things cringey in kitsch, this place has it all, including a tiled dance floor, disco ball, claw grabbing toy machine and of a picture of The Hoff, naturally. I do like a bit of 80’s cheese and I enjoy a good boogie, however what puts me off it the awful old lecherous men that tend to frequent this place. Sleaze aside, this place is a laugh if you’re on a night out with friends, looking for some drinks and dancing in tacky and hilarious surroundings.

Everyone knows what Reflex is. It’s the McDonalds of clubs… whichever one you go to it’s pretty much the same. And this is no exception. Full of middle aged people, so if you’re under 30 it’s probably best to give this place a miss. Of course everyone loves this stuff once in a while, but I don’t think I could handle going here more than once a decade.

The fashion of the 80s is usually one I like to forget — neon colours, leggings, shoulder pads and shell suits urgh — but on special occasions it is fun fun fun to unleash that hideous past(which sadly seems to be returning) and this is what I chose to do on one of my birthdays. Booted out in some 80s gear we headed to Reflex and were immediately entranced by the tracks of the 80s. The videos of the songs are played on screens around the venue providing a giggle at some of those hairdos! With the drinks menu mainly consisting of cocktails we made our way through some interesting looking jugs(sadly they were not at 80s’ prices — but about average really). We all got into the swing of it buying much of the novelty merchandise(I still have my «Frankie says Reflex» t-shirt). The crowd was mixed with a lot of older people who loked like they did belong in the 80s but they only added to the authenticity. We moved on after a while(seeking our noughties-comforts) but it was fun while it lasted — just like the 80s!

The first time I went to Reflex 80’s bar was a couple of years ago. We ventured up from Edwards to see what it was like. Most of the punters were a bit older. My friends and I, being born in ’86-’87, are a bit too young to remember the 80’s. We stayed for a wee dance, but then returned downstairs to Edwards. Now the ’80’s are back in fashion — the shops are full of neon and hi-top trainers and The Saturdays are doing terrible rip-offs of 80’s tracks. A few months ago, we ventured up again, and the clinetele was markedly younger. It’s amazing how influential fashion is! There is a raised dancefloor, disco lights, and plenty of stools to park on. However, it’s usually too bust to move, annoyingly so at times.

first things first, avoid edwards like the plague — get your arse upstairs to reflex as fast as your drunken legs will carry youand bask in the retro glory, like david hasslehoff basks in the adoration of german fans. this is a great spot to start a birthday night out — i mean, where else do you have a half decent chance of hearing let’s get crazy by prince(as an example i tried that in the garage once, and the dj replied with who?). it’s always busy and has a great atmosphere, and the drink is by no means the most expensive in town — and as a child of the eighties, how exactly can i say no to a rowdy and good-natured sing-along of i think we’re alone now by tiffany?!

This bar celebrates the 80’s to the nth degree! From the cheesy music videos on the big screens, to the deely boppers behind the bar, this bar certainly has the cheese factor! The drinks promotions are great value, but the bar is always rammed at the weekends and it can take a long time to get served. The music is a great nostalgic trip back, and the bar is very popular with hen dos — the last time I was in I spotted 5 in 10 minutes!

80’s tastic. Brilliant, fun venue for a night out with a group of friends — always packed. and always full of stag and hen nights. As the name suggests it’s 80’s all they way, from the music to the décor to the atmoshphere. Drink is reasonably priced
