I’ve been to sound and light on several occasions to source lighting, and found that on every time it was cheaper to but from another company on England.
There are staff here but they are floating between both floors. The shop sells more than just lighting they also hire equipment out for gigs and events, Dj equipment also available.

One lesson that is very important is that Gaffer Tape is better than Duct Tape.
People sing praises to Duct Tape without having ever experienced true product. The crap that is now sold as Duct Tape is a cheap knockoff.
Duct Tape is what Heating and AC Guys would use on Ducting, the utility tape that is sold under this moniker now is a far cry from the original.
Gaffer Tape, however, is unchanged from its true original form. Easily torn in pieces but strong enough to stay together. Fiber reinforced tape, simple enough but exceptionally useful stuff. If you are heading to places unknown and need to survive. Gaffer Tape could save your life. Emergency shelter or impromptu clothing.
I have made several Hipster PDAs index card cases from my rolls of Gaffer Tape.
RS is the place I go to get decent gaffer tape. They may sell other things but if I need a roll of gaffer tape — I head to RS.
Only problem is that they often only have a couple colours. Black would be best but i somehow end up having to buy Green or Orange rolls of the stuff.

I used to come into here quite regularly to fawn all over the DJ equipment, which would be newer and flashier than the stuff I had at home, before dismissing it all as a gimmick and leaving feeling proud that my whole overdraft hadn’t been blown.
It is all pretty high quality stuff, and you need to know what you’re talking about our you will be made to look a clown, but it’s still a shop where I always find myself glued to the window.
During my serious vinyl collecting days I did buy a pretty natty portable turntable. Ended up in a cupboard eventually but looked good.
