I love the food here, we eat in the Shezan at least once a week. I work for Weight Watchers and I helped the owner to set up the a Weight Watchers menu. He is totally on the ball with nutrition and had been working on the menu for a while, I helped him to work out the ProPoint values for the WW menu. It’s great to be able to eat anything from this menu without worrying about the calories or ProPoints and the food tastes fantastic!

Went here recently and they had a weight watchers style menu, which is great as I used to be quite heavy and then went to weight watchers and lost it, but I don’t want to put it back. Excellent choice, beautiful food and very light, I’d definitely recommend it to others.

Good food… nice atmosphere… mainly come here for the takeaways. Would recommend this place to anyone wanting a good Indian meal.

I’ve only ever got takeaway from here but it’s one of my favourite curry houses for a delivery in the South Side. It’s great value, good portions and tastes really fresh too. The spiced onions are particularly good so if you’re a fan of them, you’ll enjoy Shezan!

What can I say of the Shezan? The restaurant itself has been open for more than 20 years… I’ve stayed in the area practically all my life, and I can’t actually remember a time that it was not there! As you can imagine, a business that has been around so long has a legion of regulars, and has definitely earned each and every one. Nomi is the kind of business owner who is all about his customers. He loves a bit of banter, and is always keen to make sure you’ve enjoyed your meal, and to find out if and how service can be improved. The food itself is always fresh and tasty, and can be made more or less spicy at your request(excellent for those who aren’t satisfied until they have a volcano in their mouths, as well as the shy of spice). The selection is to die for, and the Shezan is also one of the few places where you can actually order gajrela for dessert — so yummy. And just so you know, you can have speciality Indian teas instead of the bog-standard tea for the end of your meal. Tis definitely the best Indian restaurant to be found in the Mount Florida /Battlefield area. Get on down there and partake!

I came in here for a take away portion of Pakora recently and was blown away! It was rather good. Not the very best I’ve ever tasted but lovely all the same. Since the nearby New Pearl of India was done up to resemble a lottery winners living room, the Shezam has struggled somewhat to hold on to its loyal band of regulars. But to be fair to it, it has survived against all odds. And I have heard that on a Thursday night you can get a buffet for a pound if buying another full price one! It doesn’t really matter if it’s good or not, it’s a pound! I’ll be back for sure.
