A wee quick beer before going for Pizza, never been here before liked the vibe of the bar. Also it has Williams IPA, West, ST Mungo’s and Heverlee on draught. what’s not to like. I believe they do food must remeber to check this place out in the near future. I often forget to visit this end of town.

Great pub in general, but add to that great food served to the wee hours. Staff always bang on and the pub has a great atmosphere. Oh and the best pizza in glasgow!

I can’t remember the last time I was in Slouch. Not because it’s been a long time, just because it’s got a good bar, great music and it becomes just another basement bar that I’ve stumbled out of. For that alone I’d recommend checking it out, but last week I was there to meet some people for food. After a few St. Mungos, I was getting pretty hungry so ordered the chicken satay skewers to start and the Southern Girl for my main. Thankfully the food didn’t take too long to arrive, just as it didn’t take too long for me to demolish the chicken satay skewers! That wasn’t before I noted how succulent and juicy they were, whilst being wonderfully chargrilled on the outside. The peanut sauce could’ve done with a little more kick to it but overall it was delicious. Not long after that the Southern Girl arrived. At this point I should point out that it wasn’t actually a girl from the South, but a plate consisting of Southern fried chicken breast with a portion of creamy mashed potato, crisp fried hash browns and homemade dirty chicken gravy. No, I’m not sure why you’d make gravy from a dirty chicken but there you have it. Again the chicken was good, but I admit that I expected a bit more of a flavour from the Southern fried breadcrumbs. The mash was good, the gravy was tasty and for the most part the hash browns were crisp and delicious. I say for the most part, because the parts of them there were wading in the dirty chicken gravy soon turned soggy and disintegrated. I love potato. I mean I LOVE potato. I may have mentioned this in other reviews(and obviously you’ve read them all by now) but for me this combo didn’t quite work. Mash and gravy is good, the chicken was good, but adding the hash browns didn’t really bring anything to the dish and it all ended up being a bit bland and mushy. Maybe a different veg? Maybe serve it on a plate and not add so much gravy? I’m not sure, but it was all kinda ‘meh’ by the end. I can’t believe I’ve just said that about a potato dish. This won’t stop me going back to Slouch and try more of their food. It was all well cooked, and served with a smile. The beer is good, the music is good, and the prices aren’t too steep for the city centre. I’ll be back!

Went here as part of my hen do for dinner and drinks. Food is great and music too! Good drinks and staff are friendly. We had a dirty glass on our table which they were more than happy to swap and apologise for. Will definitely return.

It’s not the cheapest place to get a beer, or the best variety in beers, but I just needed to find a place like this, the music is awesome or at least that day(Rock, Aerosmith, AC/DC, Guns N Roses). I had a pretty good time and loved the ambient.

Holy moley this place is goooood. Great range of draught beers & the food was sooooooooo goood!!! Even the chips– so pleasantly spiced! Add to these things the fact that the staff are freakn brilliant, the play list of super good tunes, and the cosy chill atmosphere and décor complete with homely candles and this place is winning at life. Got a nice range of spirits too so I’ll be back to try those. Wish I knew about this place sooner!

Slouch is my post-work stop-off point. It’s a great place to come and wind down after a busy day. Week nights, post-work, is normally quite lively. Not overly busy, but a good vibe to the place. Mostly rock music — heavily 90s influenced — so right up my street. Great staff, always friendly and open to nattering on the quieter evenings. And, unless it’s really busy, they also do table service. They have a good beer selection — Williams Bro and West on draught — Joker IPS(my choice of draught beer) is £3.95 a pint — as well as a decent range of bottled beers. They also do cocktails. you’ll find cocktail menus on every table. Try the espresso martini. As well as a pretty awesome bar, there’s also a dedicated restaurant area — on the left as you come in the main door, the bar is on the right. Great bar food — mostly burgers, pizza, nachos and hot dogs. There’s also a Market Menu that’s updated daily. Oh, and banoffee cheese cake! Bands also play here, mostly at the weekend. It’s a great intimate venue. But if the music gets too loud for you, they have ear plugs for free at the bar. Right I better run, the work bell has just rung and I’m due at Slouch.

Since I first reviewed Slouch, it has become a regular post work pit stop with the Mr to unwind and blether about our days. I’ve still not got round to eating here, but the food looks and smells amazing! And they do regular meal deals too. They’ve an alright selection of beers(bottled and on tap) but we usually opt for Joker ipa(currently £3.95 a pint). Slouch also does a lot of cocktails, with different promotional prices which change regularly. The staff are always super friendly and are good for a chat if you’re on your own. I’ve also been here at the weekend — it gets extremely busy but the staff are just as good, and offer a table service for drinks. The music is always(and I mean ALWAYS) awesome — because it’s chosen by the customers. I’ve put up a tip with the email address for music requests. All in all, I LOVE Slouch!

Slouch is one of my all-round favourite Glasgow bars. It’s not the best at one particular thing, but it’s good in everything. Apart from maybe the music, their taste in music is excellent. They might be the best in that… The food is your usual bar bistro fare. Burgers, pizza and some pasta. But it is all tasty and reasonably priced. They also have a simpler bar menu which they serve right up until 2am, which after a few drinks is amazing. The drink selection is good. They have a few beers on draft, normally including a West and a Williams brothers, as well as a decent selection of bottled craft beer alongside the usual suspects. Their gin, rum and whisky selection is top-notch and can rival some of the more specialised establishments in the city. Plus they have one spirit of each type on special each week. A good tip though if you’re going at the weekend is to book a table in advance in the restaurant area. This secures you a table for the night once it gets busy and has the added bonus of table service all night so you don’t have to fight your way to the bar.

In such a quirky and good location, we already knew this was going to be a fantastic place. We had the hot balls with a baby Mac n cheese for starters which was perfect. The famous ‘slouch chilli’ and the ‘sweet child of suine’ were a delight. I’ve never had a shredded beef chilli and it was gorgeous! Highly recommend to someone looking for something different and quirky.

I love Slouch. It’s perfect to start or finish your night. If you’re hungry then you can’t go wrong with the Cajun chicken pizza or a burger and chips. The kitchen stays open pretty late which is an added bonus for those working late and needing to refuel for a big night on tiles. This little gem of a bar is a music fans hangout. The duke box caters for hard rock, indie and classic rock and punk fans. The venue also provides live music with bands appearing every week. The staff are friendly and very on the ball with service. Even on a busy night you be kept waiting long. The layout of the place is really well thought out for such a small bar. The booths are comfy and the atmosphere is laid back. If you like your old school games then ask for a shot at Connect Four. You’ll be graced with a HUGE version of the 80’s kids classic. The prices for drinks and food are very reasonable for such a swanky looking watering hole. A favourite with hipsters, aging rockers, punks and suave thirty somethings.

I always find slouch to be a nice place for an early dinner or the start of a long night. The food is very good value for money, good portions and usually well cooked. They always tend to have good drink promos on however like most bars on bath street, it tends to get a bit over crowded on a Friday or Saturday night. Regardless, if your going with a group of friends and get there early to snag a ‘comfy’ seat the atmosphere is worth it.

Im giving this a 4 on the basis that it was new years and that i will re review it. I was probably very merry hence the need to try it out again… any excuse lol. So the bar is pretty cosy, its a little basement bar which thankfully does not suffer from the usual basement bar problems of being either a. dingy and small or b. a sauna! Nice enough décor, great bar staff who were very quick. I waited no longer than 5 minutes for any of my drinks which on Hogmanay with cocktails is an achievment in itself. They were still serving nibbles and such up till 2 am which is amazing! Good selection of rock cocktails such as Dr Feelgood all named after iconic songs. Music selection is a bunch of easy listening rock classics, well known headbangs and some slightly pop like ones to get you all in the mood. They also as mentioned earlier do food which is yet another excuse for me to visit again. Really nice bar, great attentive staff and a nice area for libations!

The most challenging thing about playing live at Slouch? Watching the most drool-worthy juicy burgers pass by, just inches from the stage. I never realised how simple gigging in Stirling was until we ventured to Glasgow to play. In wee Stirlingshire, it goes a little something like this. — The person who booked you will; a) most likely own the bar, b) has seen you play live before and wanted you to play in their venue, c) will welcome you, listen throughout the night and, if it’s a paid gig, pay you at the end. Simple. It’s between you and the owner. — No complications. In Glasgow, not so much. It’s a promoter’s game, and as a result, there’s a middle man, which often brings complications. Not at Slouch! I love the initial interaction with a business, especially somewhere that we’re genuinely excited to play. Holly from ‘Shake your Tail Feather promotions’ was a pleasure from start to finish and really got us excited as the gig got closer. So Holly had booked us, confirmed times and noted our tech specs… But who would meet us at the venue and who would mix our sound? Holly! Not only was she resident promoter but she’s the face of music at Slouch. As a result, the experience was easy peasy from start to finish; there were no crossed wires as we’d been dealing with the one person from start to finish. It was nice to work with someone who genuinely seemed interested in our music and took the time to get to know us, along with showing genuine passion for Slouch and the Glasgow music scene. And the sound mix was great. — Thank you, Holly! When Slouch asked if we’d come back to play again, it was a ‘heck yes!’ from us. We’d love to make it a regular thing, for sure! Next time, burgers. And cocktails.(After the set!)

How the dickens have I never been in here before? TELLMEHOW, DAMMIT??? After a night at a Unilocal event, a gig in the O2ABC, and band watching in Howlin’ Wolf, I’d got wind that the Temperance Movement(the gig I was at) were chilling out in Slouch and generally faffing about. So, being a glory hunter, off I went. And yes, the band were there, I hobnobbed and selfied and high fived and even bought drinks, had drinks bought for me and basically fanboyed out. That was cool. But… but… but!!! Slouch itself is INCREDIBLE. Open until 3am(which is when I stumbled out *hic*) every night, it’s a cool basement bar, with a wide range of beers, ales, lagers and spirits. I had *cough* some Joker IPA and some St Mungo, both fine Scottish beverages. Prices aren’t too steep even allowing for city centre and late night prices, and there’s tons of nooks and crannies to get lost in, cool chandeliers to admire, candles galore and the music choice was eclectic, varied but fantastic. There was some space for dancing, as Phil from the Temperance Movement demonstrated ably with his missus. The winchin’ was maybe a bit OTT, but hey, who am I to judge? Get in here! I will definitely be back! Although, I of course am never, ever drinking again. Ever. At all. Until Friday.

Slouch is a fairly unique bar in that it caters to almost all kinds of occasion: it’s great for a quick drink after work, it’s good for a weekend pub lunch, it’s fun late at night(open v late and still doing food until 2am which is BRILLIANT!) and they have live music almost every evening. Food is amazing, decent selection of bottled beers, nice staff and it’s free and simple to reserve a table or a booth if you’re having a birthday thing or something. Basically, it’s the place where I bring my folks if they are in town and we want lunch/dinner but it’s also where I go at 1am when I’m drunk and NEED chicken wings!

I had only been in Slouch before for drinks, and having liked the atmosphere of the place we decided to return for food. Slouch has live music 4 nights a week, and when we were there it was a blues night. This creates a really nice buzz. I went for the sea bass with butternut squash, beetroot and mango and it was delicious. The flavour in the sea bass was spot on, the skin on top was crisp and the addition of the mango was really complimentary — something I’ll need to try at home. In terms of menu choice, it is a bit limited if you don’t want a pizza or a burger, and even more so if you don’t eat meat, so more of a choice would have been preferable. Also, it felt like our main meals took quite a while to arrive, but that could have been purely my hunger talking.

With an hour to kill before dinner, I needed a cocktail. Or two. And some chips. Thankfully Slouch has all these things on the menu PLUS seating so that meant it was the perfect stop for Saturday afternoon drinks. My first cocktail was the Personality Crisis £5.95. Made from«Smirnoff Green Apple Vodka & Xante Pear Cognac, shaken with lemons and apple juice. Finished with a splash of lemonade and a drizzle of grenadine, served in a chilled wine glass.» There’s no denying this cocktail had an apple zing to it — quite sweet but not too over the top and pretty easy drinking. I’d ordered the twice cooked fries(£2.95) and they arrived pretty quickly and were piping hot. They weren’t amazing fries, a little greasy but overall they were pretty decent and we demolished them without any trouble. I then opted to get into a second cocktail — it was a Saturday afternoon, after all. The Black Magic Woman(£6.50) is an espresso martini with«Illy Espresso, Smirnoff Red, Patron XO& brown sugar shaken over ice, strained into a martini glass and dusted with chocolate.» Woah. This was GOOD. I mean, really good. A bit addictive, even. Thankfully I wouldn’t be able to tolerate two espresso martinis so that wasn’t really an option. I loved the chocolate dusting and it was one of the best espresso martinis I’ve ever had. I’d even go so far as to say I would go back to Slouch just for this cocktail, it was that good.

A couple of my friends invited my to photograph them singing/playing the guitar at Slouch on Sunday. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the friendly bar staff who took my drink order. I was super early for the gig so I ordered a pizza for the wait which was great! Just a simple margarita, but my goodness it was full of flavour. I soon found out that cocktails are half price on Sundays.(Woohoo!) I highly recommend Dr Feelgoods and Grounds For Divorce. Once the gig was over we stayed for some more cocktails and munchies in the form of Nachos. I’m very much looking forward to coming back here!

I was only here briefly upon my last visit(BAD Unilocalers you! Tut-tut! Ouch) but I have been here before and I must say this bar is pretty damn nifty. Here’s the pro’s: Good music of an alternative/rock/punk/grunge/Indie/New Wave variety Nice big seating areas/booths Good choice of drinkage Friendly bar staff Cheap cocktails mid-week(damn them) Only con for me is a pure daft one and that is I very rarely seem to find myself of an evening in this particular part of town, I know that’s TOTALLY personal but it just means I don’t really ever stumble upon it and just GO there. I haven’t tried their food but heard good things so maybe one. I also know they have a FREE nightclub right next door which when I was there on a Sat night sounded pretty swell to moi. Also it’s FREE! Yus. Slouch my very relaxed bar friend I shall return. Oh yes, I shall return.
