The best thing about this Spar is that it has a Post Office with really good opening hours. Also, it is a nice-sized market with all the essentials, with added bonuses of a Subway sandwich counter and a cash machine just outside. The people who work there are all very helpful and lovely, and they’ve got a great selection of magazines. They have everything I need!

UNEXPECTEDSANDWICHES! Weirdly, the verrrrrry best thing about this shop is the Subway concession inside! A SUBWAY! My moooost favourite of the junk food takeaways(this is reeeeally not a good thing, with its proximity to my house-eek! Lol) I COULDN’T beliiiieve when I saw the sign going up-stoked is not sufficient enough of a description for how I felt! The full store is always spotlessly clean(which is always encouraging for food serving premises…) But it’s definitely with noting. Staff are friendly and they’re open during major holidays, which is obv VERY handy. The local post office relocated to inside this shop when it opened a couple of years ago, so sometimes it can seem pretty mobbed, but that’s not too much of a hooha… I do have to admit, I rarely buy stuff from the actual Spar; it’s blimming pricey!!! They sometimes have some good deals on; usually I find they charge over the odds, with a premium for convenience… This is the sole reason it’s not a 5star review…

If you want to compete with the big boys then this is a lesson in how to do it. It makes me excited to be in it, for god’s sake. The owner has this place looking immaculate with an open layout, fantastic staff and some great additions to make your wallet itch, like a Bradfords bakery counter. The outside of the shop looks shiny and new, with lots to entice you in. The Subway’s a great idea to get more people through the door. It’s definitely lifted the look of the whole area and I’ll be making it my first port of call instead of the Tesco Express 300yrds down the road.
