Have been here a few times and I like it. It’s a ‘bare bones’ industrial type building that events can come in to and put their own stamp on. There are several different spaces/rooms so it doesn’t feel like a huge empty space. There is street parking available in the nearby streets. The Tron film showing as part of the Glasgow Film Festival last year was great — the downstairs was turned into a ‘Flynn’s Arcade’ with 80’s arcade machines, and bar and DJ with the film screened upstairs. I recently came for a food pop-up and art event and it was a good casual venue for the purpose. It is cold inside though, so wear warm clothes!

This place has been my 2nd home for the past 3 weeks as I have been making a short film here. I am going to write this review in terms of hiring it out for an event, music video venue or film venue. I believe the place is usually used for gigs or as a night club. Well it is very dusty & dirty, a bit like a mini«the arches» it is basically handed over to you with minimum cleaning. Bins are taken out & the bar is washed down, but candle mark rings on table, dust, grime & residualness is still present.(so I wouldn’t plan a buffet here for guests ;)) There is no toilet paper in the toilets, the sinks are pretty old school & there are no paper towels or dryers for hands. But on the plus side the bins were emptied & they did leave carex hand soap. There is also a disabled toilet too. It’s very cold, I write this review in July so it was 100% warmer outside than in. So bring warm clothes! On the plus side there are loads of cool shots to get, there is a bar area, 5 rooms, some cool long corridors, lots of power outlets & extension cables to be borrowed, sofas, chairs. There is also a very light room at back with a giant water tank. Pretty cool for lighter urban type shots & there are wooden steps etc to go up to the next level. All in all I would choose the glue factory to shoot again for an urban photoshoot or to record a music video or like us film a crime film. Bring gloves, your own loo roll & hand sanitiser however!

Fantastic arts venue. Ok bar. Catered to relatively undescerning local arts scene(brilliant minds, hot exchange students, and mouldy normcore sour-faces with permanent side-eye and gross English accents). Drink are small but v v cheap. Cool building. Great events. Doesnt have any real toilets, heating, or warmth of heart. Should furnish smoking area with SOMETHING. Perfect messy venue for not so perfect messy nights.

Such a funky venue! All I would gripe about is the state of the bathrooms. Having said that, it is an old building and there’s probably a reason they’re so dilapidated. We were here as part of the Film Fest; we were going to see Tron as part of the arcade pop-up and the venue really added to the atmosphere of the film and the 80s arcade theme :) Lovely night had by all!
