About two years ago l bought a Belcher chain from Gold smiths, sadly the chain got damaged and than have it repaired l thought of scrapping for the gold content and treating myself to a new one. The chap that l showed the chain to went to the back of the shop and examined the chain on his return offered a measly £12.00 for the chain that nearly cost £500 two years before. He must have thought that l was stupid or something. I took it to a reputable goldsmith and had it repaired while l was there l asked them what the scrap value was informed that l could get £420.00 cash on the spot for the chain. Always shows you that if ever in doubt, check it out.
