The Globe Inn

This is a really nice, quaint little pub. It’s quirky atmosphere and cheap drinks are quite attractive. The food is pretty good too. It’s completely vegan, which when I was told about, was off-​putting because I’m a real meat fan, but it is really good and again, pretty cheap! The choice of alcohol is a bit limited and low in quality, but at £2 for a double whisky and coke you can hardly complain. The quiz on a Wednesday is good and they give all quiz goers free hotpot which is really tasty! It suffers slightly because of its size, there is often not enough room for people to sit because it is a bit pokey. Parts of the pub really need some renovation and tlc, especially the really ropey upstairs room which is like a crack den from Trainspotting. To summarise, decent place for a cheap drink and a nibble.

The food here is amazing, everything is homecooked. I recommend the hot veg curry delux with rice, the fresh flavours of the curry is better than most restaurants. The chips are hand cut real potatoes and the onion gravy is full of flavour. The mushrooms and ‘steak’ in red wine is also a real treat. Had 2 main meals and 2 drinks there tonight and got change from a tenner!!! Amazing chef, friendly staff, large garden, board games and books are available, all vegan menu. Try the butterscotch cake and butterscotch ice cream, hard to believe it’s vegan.

This is my favorite place. I go here every time I visit my sister in Glossop.
The atmosphere is very Cosy and friendly. Everything I have ever ordered is delicious. The rice especially is amazing. I don’t know what they do to season it but it the best.
