The Somerset Arms

A small pub that doubles as a nightclub over the weekend. Very busy on Thursday nights. Gets very hot and sweaty inside. Good music and the usual array of drinks. Open until 3am Thursday/​Friday and Saturday.

I visit the pub for a late drink and dance on a Friday night. I imagine it is a charming looking pub during the day as it has low beams, pillars and a lovely brick fireplace. I usually come here as a final destination on a Friday night as it is late opening and great for a dance. It has a mixed clientele. I am 38 and did not feel out of place even though there is a high number of very young clubbers. They play a fine mix of music and I particularly enjoy the old heavy dance anthems of the 80/​90s which they play a little of every week.
Be prepared to be packed in like a tin of sardines as some nights it get very busy. However, we move around and eventually find a little bit of space.
I am not single, but think that this place is great place for single people who like to have a drink, dance and meet new people.
This bar is very close to Gravesend Station and has a taxi rank very close by.
