In my opinion, this place does the best Pina Coladas ever!!! I’ve been to lots of countries, always on the lookout for one just as good but never finding it The food is good too, portion sizes are massive(as in even I can’t finish them massive). Any time I go, there is always some kinda birthday meal going on. It’s nice, the service is good and it’s reasonably priced. Possibly my favourite place to eat in Greenock(although admittedly I don’t eat there often nowadays).

Morgan’s Café Bar on West Blackhall Street, was our .eh. local. It has changed owners and management several times and has had more makeovers than I care to remember. It is a decent enough bar/restaurant and has all your expected beers on tap or bottle. The restaurant part has always been a little hit or miss. It does OK fares with little gusto. — Com’on — it IS Greenock — you couldn’t expect too much of culinary standards, as long as it is decent. And they did ‘decent food’ very well. Not serving the usual food of «[blank] with chips» it did salads, fresh green, rice and el dente pasta meals. Fancy enough for Greenock I suppose. So Morgan’s is OK and cheap(ish) and that is what it is.

Morgans can be a hit or miss with many of the locals. Some people decided full stop never to go(without ever having been) and others make it a weekly occurance and its not unusual to have a brithday party or some sort of celebration tucked away at the back. We have been going here for years. Since we were 16 it was our stop if one of our pals was one year older, had passed their driving test, or we just wanted to feel grown up and go out for dinner! The food is always far better than I imagine it to be! The portions are MASSIVE in here to unless you are completely famished, I would recommend giving the starter a miss and going right onto the mains. Service isn’t brilliant, but then again it is a small town and it’s usually young servers learning the trade, so be patient. However it is noteworthy to mention that service is always undoubtebly friendly and welcoming. So next time youu find yourself in Greenock pull up a chair in Morgans, and enjoy the biggest meal you’ll ever have.

Morgans is a great inexpensive place to eat and drink, ideal for groups of people on a night out, or a pre theatre meal. Prices for a main course are around £7!!! with starters from around £4+ Desserts are good vale too at a few pounds each too. But I don’t know anyone who has managed a 3 course meal in here as the portion sizes are massiveThere is a good range of food choices, from Mexican chicken with rice to Steak and chips, macaroni to Pizzaetc. I have been there on a number of different occasions, as part of a large group of people(where we were catered for pretty quickly) and also just 2 people(perhaps not as quick service but still not too bad) Only once did I have to wait more time than I would have liked, so not bad in all. Service is not too bad although one time when I went the waitress was very sullen and bored looking and I felt as if we were taking up her time, but that was some time ago and I don’t think she is still there. The restaurant is well placed on one of the town centre’s main streets(West Blackhall Street, nearby the banks and Poundstretchers shop) so can get really busy at times, it’s great for a lunchtime meal and is even better for a night out, although I would recommend booking in advance as it can get busy. Another thing is it can, at any time of the day look quite darkwhich is great if you’re having a romantic meal but not so great if there’s a bunch of friends out for a friendly meal. The atmosphere is good though so that makes up for it. Another thing to note is the great cocktails they do tooperhaps whilst waiting on your party turning up you should try them!

Nice place to eat, and it is comfy and the atmosphere is nice, calming, and feels posh! Even the service are brilliant there as well. Very children friendly place. I always go in there during the lunch hours, but I have never been to there in the evening, as I have heard that it would need to be booking for a table reservation. So no wonder it is a popular place to go! The prices are very reasonable as well.

My favourite place to eat out in Greenock and a lot of people agree which is why unless you’ve booked a table you may be disappointed! The coleslaw is the best I’ve ever tasted, I can never order a pasta because I need to order something with chips and salad so I can get the coleslaw. You’ve got to be really hungry to eat here as the portions are huuuge but very good value. Nice cosy atmosphere, you never feel hurried so it’s nice to relax and chat with friends.

Meine erste positive Überraschung in UK.
