For an airport restaurant, this is a very good Italian restaurant. Somehow they manage to make you feel that you are not at a busy airport with their design and ambiance. They spaghetti is excellent. And the drinks selection is also very good. It was very busy when I got there, but again, this is Heathrow. It’s in terminal 3, right next to Harrod’s store, entry to lounges, and an information desk is not far from it.

What is it about airports and airplanes? Why can’t the food be bomb like in the rest of the world? This is one of those questions which has always eluded me. Why can’t airlines just serve us Happy Meals or Taco Bell in flight? That’s not too expensive and would be a lot better than the TV Dinner reject fare they try to feed us. Why can’t there be good burrito places in airport terminals? If there is a chain restaurant in a terminal why is it always the worst version of itself that it could possibly be, often with an abbreviated menu and smaller portions at higher prices? Do they shoot all kinds of radiation on the food when it goes through security rendering it meh? Are there some secret rules regarding food in airports that we don’t know about, is is supposed to suck for some reason which we can never know? Strada is an Italian full service restaurant in London Heathrow International Terminal 3. i ate here on Sunday while I was waiting for my flight departure. I started this trip to Europe 13 days prior in Rome, so it felt appropriate to finish the trip with Italian food. If I’m judging Strada as an airport terminal restaurant it is definitely A-OK. The service was prompt, the food was adequate, they served me two Peroni Reserva beers in a glass to take the edge off being in an airport and that’s all I really needed on this day. I also had a cotto and mushroom pizza which was fair. I think they were going for rustic on the ingredients and presentation but it came off plain and bland. Outside an airport this place would be a disappointment, the food was just adequate, not great and the prices were high for the quality. That said, in the airport I have certainly done worse. This was A-OK for an airport restaurant.

Tagliatelle bolognes(£10.95), chicken casarecce(£12.95) and mixed leaf salad(£3.75) These were very flavoursome but the tagliatelle clumped together and it was not very andante. The white sauce was delicious but the sauce was way too thick. I had better at another strada branch. It was ashamed that the food was average.

I stopped by for lunch during a short layover. I usually try to eat before I fly, in particular when flying american carriers since their food is notoriously bad. While I enjoy Pret-A-Manger, I wanted something a little more substantial for my 10-hour flight. For lunch I chose the Penne Carbonara unfortunately it was no better than airline food, actually my pasta dish on American Airlines was much better than this crap. I know how to make Carbonara and I know what it tastes like and this was definitely not it. The sauce was made with some Maggi or Knorr sauce and there probably wasn’t an egg-yolk within a mile of this concoction. I find it astonishing that places like Strada spend so much on rent and décor only to completely screw the passenger on food. But I guess they don’t expect repeat business — that’s how they get away with serving sub-par meals.

Really annoyed I chose this as my lunch stop out of many places. The waitress was rude, took 15 min to bring some water. They were out of the caprese salad. I ordered the carbonara which looked nice but had no flavor at all, then when I would usually take the leftovers to eat on the plane they didnt have any take-away boxes. Come on its and airport! Get your shit together. Not feeling full before my 10 hour flight.

Food was OK, we were there at breakfast time so had Panini’s which were actually focaccia sandwiches. They took 25 mins to arrive, which seemed a bit excessive. We were given a free 2nd round of drinks because of the delay, and our waitress was very nice, so I’ve gone for 3 stars.

Overall OK restaurant. Good latte, average breakfast. Expecting delicious Italian pastry I got a very dry and stale tasting one. They replaced it with freshly baked croissant after I complained, which was much better, but still couldn’t compare to Pret’s next door.

Was starving– and my daughter and I had a lovely breakfast here. The prosciutto with eggs was quite nice, and just what we needed. And the coffee was lovely. The waitress was kind and attentive, and didn’t bother us, and as we were dead on our feet, that was great. I would definitely go back here. I even asked for a substitution, as I have an allergy– couldn’t eat the toast– so they gave me lovely tomatoes instead. As I can rarely eat airplane food, it was nice to have a good breakfast before getting on my long haul flight– on which I was unable to eat anything. Thank you Strada for a lovely meal!

This is my favorite restaurant in the Heathrow airport! It’s so yum and reasonably priced! Stop here for a good meal before a long flight and the service is quick too!

The food tasted average and was totally overpriced. On top of that my waiter was very rude and added costs on to my bill for items I didn’t even request.

Girlfriend had a pasta dish which was a very nice sized portion and good. I had saltimbocca which was a nice sized portion, but bland. Service was excellent. Based on food I would give 3.5 stars but based on service I rounded up to 4. Prices were pretty good considering its in a busy airport.

You know it’s a great venue when you’re craving airport food two and a half months later. Came here on a layover after a 14 hour flight — Love the service, friendly staff and excellent food! It’s not the cheapest, but it’s well worth the extra $ if you’re craving a hearty, well-cooked meal. fast! I seriously think I finished my plate in less than ten minutes because it was so much yummier than I expected. So happy I stopped by for some quality grub before my next 12 hour flight! Sidenote — the ambience is trendy, modern and casual with ample seating and gorgeous décor. For a traveler budgeting time: 5 star customer service, 5 star cuisine.

Spaghetti Bolognese is the tits. Service is spot-on. A little pricey, but this is an airport in london. If you want cheap, bring crackers from your home country. Ignore the other reviews. They are complaining about bullshit.

A very filling and delicious Italian meal that satisfied my stomach while waiting for my layover in London. I ordered the Spaghetti Bolognese, which came out in about 5 minutes and was a big portion, more than enough for me to be stuffed in anticipation for the 10 hour flight home. I also ordered a peach Bellini to enjoy with the last of my pounds. Very light and delicious. Prices are expensive(think airport prices), but not that bad compared to other restaurants. Lots of people were dining in when I went.

A chain Italian restaurant at the airport? Yes, please. On our way home to the States from a European excursion, we were tired and hungry and found ourselves with a four-hour layover at LHR. We saw Strada and decided to give it a shot. First of all, it’s a lovely restaurant and made me forget it was at the airport. Our server, Karmen, was fantastic! She was fast, efficient, friendly, and attentive. As for the food, we both had spaghetti bolognese, and it was freaking fantastic. Seriously, who knew?! Afterward, we both got lattes(to try to wake our tired asses up), and they were great too. So, if you find yourself hungry in the airport, definitely give Strada a try.

The food was pretty good for an airport restaurant, granted its a very nice airport terminal at Heathrow… I had the pan fried sea bass and I would recommend it. We were served quickly and efficiently, décor was modern but simple.

Surprisingly good for ”Airport food”. Service… eh. Hubby and I decided to grab a quick breakfast here before our flight, I ordered the Pane Dorato Frutti( ) while he ordered the Grande Colazione Inglese( ) and substituted the Tomato’s & Mushrooms for Egg(Veg-a– phobe!). Food was ready quickly and of good quality. Real British Bacon and Sausages — Yum with tasty sauté potatoes and Egg. My Toasted sweet bread was delicious too, Blueberries were very fresh and firm but a little on the sparse side. Our waitress was nice enough but clearly struggled with English(not her first language) and once we had finished our food and our plates had been cleared we didn’t see her again for half an hour. Presumably she had gone on break and nobody had been informed to look after her tables as we were desperately trying to get the other servers attention so that we could get the bill but no less than 3 waitresses looked directly at us and completely ignored us. Not cool! We were on the verge of walking out. Cutlery on the table was also dirty, it looked as though the Fork had been used and placed back on the napkin rather than cleared and replaced with new stuff. Nice!
