Part of the green heart called wigan flashes this massive lake isn’t the easiest of places to get to as its near to a railway line which we crossed as kids but with health & safety these day’s a fence as been put up to stop you accessing the railway. So to get to turners now you need to use the canal towpath but the towpath on the other side which isn’t paved so it’s full of weeds. Used by local fishermen although not recommended to swim in it’s a great place to get away from it all and enjoy a great peaceful walk.
