Debenhams in Guildford is a large store with each section having a floor to itself. There are plenty of brands available but the best time to buy is during their sales. On numerous occassions the prices are even lower than what the sticker says (upto a £1.00) in value. So one may get lucky. Debenhams also has a beauty or make up section. Their perfume collection is quite nice too.

Debenhams in Guildford is located next to the River Wey and this makes the small restaurant quite an idyllic setting, sitting outside on a summer day watching the ducks in the water below! The shop itself is on 4 floors and is served by escalators and lifts making access easy for all. Generally I have found the staff to be helpful and readily available. I mostly buy childrens clothes at this store as they have some ‘different’ ranges of high quality clothing. Examples of this are the Ted Baker range, Rocha, Duffer St George and Pineapple. The sale section can be good for bargains too.

Hmmmm. Well up until this weekend I would have probably have marked this department store higher as it has a good selection of products and is fairly well laid out inside.
This weekend, however, i experienced the worst customer service ever in the Guildford branch. I went in to pick up a reserved light and 3 — yes 3 — hours later i finally left the store with the lights but without my sense of humour!
What a painful experience which I can only put down to a new batch of sales assistants who didn’t seem to have a clue what they were doing or how to treat customers.
In the end I had to ask to speak to the manager who apologised but by this stage I just wanted to leave the store. I understand the need to employ extra staff for xmas but please ensure you offer them some training!

Debenhams Guildford is quite a large department store that has what you would expect, a large make up and perfumes section, a good clothing department with various brands and a lovely homewares section. The store has improved over the years and still maintains the debenhams standard that we all know. The store is over various floors and is designed quite well for browsing. The staff are helpful and knowlegeable even when under pressure. Overall a good shopping experience all under one roof.

This is a large branch of Debenhams, with the usual vast variety of products. It is fairly well laid out and has several floors.
For me Debenhams isn’t as pleasant a shopping experience as House of Fraser. This branch is a slightly old fashioned and generic looking.
The staff are helpful, but there never seems to be that many of them around, particularly in the cosmetics section.
The entrance to the store has recently been changed, so that you no longer have to go through a dirty underground passage to get in, which is a nice improvement.
