Got a Groupon voucher as always wanted to eat here. Food was delicious, well cooked, well presented and great flavours! Definitely coming back!

The Hale Kitchen is a nice smart place but very busy on a Friday. Don’t think it’s decided whether it is bar or a restaurant so when we arrived for dinner we were surrounded by a rowdy crowd at the bar. This meant that our dining experience wasn’t as relaxed as it could have been. The service was very friendly and attentive and the menu looked good. I ordered the mushrooms to start which were presented well but were a little tasteless my husband liked his goat cheese tarts but felt it would have been nice if they’d come with chutney. The fish and chips were a hit for main but my sea bass was rather dry and lacked flavour. The dessert we shared toffee and pecan cheesecake was the best course of the night. Overall an average experience. Think it might be best to try this place at a quieter time in the week.

We rocked up on Saturday night with a Groupon deal.cheapskates.warm welcome from the maître de and as downstairs bar was noisy we ate upstairs where the ambience was cool Cheshire-set affluence. Good range of menu, I couldn’t resist the sea bass with coriander salsa, and it was top notch, tho the chef seemed to have a penchant for over indulging his garlic stock, drenching the spinach, coriander etc My partner chose the pork belly, which was well cooked and presented. We both polished off the adequate portions with gusto. Desserts were typical, I side-stepped the toffee and pecan cheesecake in favour of the chocolate parfait, which tho delicious, was not actually a parfait, not being cold/frozen. A small quibble. Service and timing couldn’t be faulted, we would return, but not at non-discounted á la carte full price menu… plenty of offers available for all socio-economic groups… John and Susie, Sale
