The Rotisserie

Ahh the Rotisserie. One of my favourite local restaurants. The Rotisserie is all about great tasting food. Think steaks, chicken, fish and ribs, all cooked to perfection on, you guess it the (rotisserie) grills.
Tom and I went along last Saturday for ‘Date Night’. Tom started with a portion of the chargrilled spare ribs (£7.50). Sticky, fall-​off-​the-​bone tender and so good that I didn’t get a look in!
Luckily my starter was equally good with the seared tuna & asian slaw (£7.95). Meaty slices of perfectly cooked sushi grade tuna served with a tangy ginger dressing — absolutely delicious and one of my favourite dishes on the menu.
For main courses we decided to share a steak. We both love rib-​eyes but rather than going for our own, we decided to share the aberdeen angus rib of beef for two (£19.95pp). A huge slab of meat cooked medium rare, and cut into thick slices. The meat was perfectly cooked, erring on the rare side, exactly how I like and the seasoning was spot on. I often find restaurants go a bit mad with the salt, but the beef here was just right.
As it was date night, we went all out and added an order of prawns (£8.95) and a wealth of sides: asparagus (£4.95), creamed spinach (£4.25) and skinny fries (£3.25). Tom has come to accept the fact that he is dating a baby elephant and does not judge the sheer volume of food I insist we order.
A trip to the Rotisserie won’t be the cheapest of meals (especially considering it’s on the outskirts of London) but the food is really well cooked and the atmosphere is always lively at the weekend so I don’t mind paying a little extra for the quality. If you ever find yourself way out in West London, make sure you try it out — I promise the steaks are worth your trip!

I’ve been to Rotisserie quite a few times over the years, normally for a special occasion as I tend to think of going to a steak place as an expensive prospect.
In reality, Rotisserie is quite delicious and quite reasonably priced, too. They do a 2 course menu for £18 (not after 7pm on Saturdays) which has a large variety of things and I can always leave full and happy after that.
I really like the peri peri sausages to start, and the caesar salad is pretty good, too. I always have a rib eye steak for the main and it’s consistently good. Not Hawksmoor good, but definitely £18 good.
They used to have quite a few restaurants, as well as a sister brand, Delisserie, but most of these have closed now, and the menu at Hatch End is the better for it — more concise and focussed. The only thing I’ve ever had from Rotisserie that I just didn’t like was a wagyu beef burger — and they don’t even bother selling it anymore, from what I can see.
If you’re in the area, it’s a solid choice — a 4 for the suburbs, but probably a 3 if you were in town.
