Called in out of the blue. Had Sunday lunch. Very nice.

I went here in June 2007, and the service was friendly but lacked common sense; at the age of 21, I was asked for ID by a boy younger than myself. The pub is large inside and comfortable enough. Prices were a little on the pricey side, compared even with London where I was living at the time. The food was somewhere between ok and good. I didn’t have any problems finishing what was on my plate but it wasn’t the greatest I had ever tasted. The reason I visited at all was that it was the only place near where I was staying on a work trip, and the accommodation I was in did not cater in the evenings. If there had been any other pubs nearby, I would have gone. There was another pub further along the road but as I was on foot and it was a precarious walk along a narrow, winding road without pavements in some areas, I felt it best to stay near.
